I've been trying to read Close Your Eyes by sonofabiscuit77, who(whom?)I adore by the way, because she writes (and hopefully will write more of) my fav OC ever, not to mention some of the best, most amazing AUs ever--but I *can't*! I've been reading it in bits because it features infidelity in a way that makes me want to cower under the blankets. But I have a very low omgeepohno threshold. The story is amazing, mind you, and so very, very interesting! It features Dean in a way that's pretty fucking unique but also makes sense for the story. I like it. I'm going to finish it because there's no way I can't. Just...eep. I can't see this ending good for anybody, least of all me, hah!! *pulls blanky over her head and snags all the kleenix*

Oh Roxy, you make me feel so guilty!!!

I have to admit that if I was reading it, I'm not sure I could've finished it. I didn't realise exactly how angsty it was.

I have to admit that I always get very surprised by this fandom's low tolerance of infidelity in fic, especially considering the popularity of underage or knotting or bestiality! But then again, infidelity is so normal and it's probably something that most of us have experienced personally, so I guess it hits really close to home. In this case, the infidelity plot is lifted straight from the original film and really brings home just how damaging the siblings' relationship is.

Anyway, I hope you like it by the time you finish! Though, I completely understand if it's too much, lol.

No, no--no guilt! Look how you've made me feel the story! It should be hard to read, it's a difficult subject and background aside, what the slash side of SpN fandom is all about is not a pretty thing. Mind you, *koff* I'm down with the pretty but it's good every once in a while to get hit with the two-by-four, especially when it's as beautifully written as this.

I will finish and will leave you a probably tear-soaked comment when I do. :)
