I swear, little ones, there really is a difference between weary and wary. Almost every time you use weary you actually mean wary. Promise, it makes a difference.

LOL!!!!

I also never fail to laugh at "prostrate" for "prostate".

omg, don't laugh!!! I can't tell you how many times I've done that by accident. Maybe I should be less judgy, lol!! But you guys know it's a typo when I do it, right??? ;D

I hate to say it but I'm soooo picky when it comes to grammar. It really irritates me, but then I also do it for my job. I kind of felt bad because I had this one story I was working on today and the writer had used the wrong term for something. I emailed and told them and they sounded a little put-out that I'd corrected them. They'd been using it wrong for years. I don't do it if it's fanfiction, unless the writer's a good friend and they know what I'm like, but yeah, I kind of have to do it to a pro writer because it's my job. (I'm a sub-editor)

WE'RE SO CUTE TOGETHER!!!!

I can usually tell when it's an accident, but sometimes you can also tell they just didn't know. Pulls me right out of the story LOL!

(and I totally know YOU know!!*hugs*)

hehe

also viscous/vicious and defiantly/definitely.

My favorite though is when people say something like, "but I might be a little bias," because, unless you're a seamstress, bias is not an adjective, and I get much pleasure imagining smoochy little biases running around (I don't know why they're cute in my head. It's the "little" descriptor, probably)

don't be less judgy!!! If we had to be perfect in order to be judgy, then life would be no fun.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-08-07 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! You like me being judgy, don't you? ;D

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-08-07 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
I'm terrible at grammar, but not eye-bleed bad--I hope. I can't imagine being put-out about being corrected. How do you learn, otherwise? It's not like being told your story is a steaming pile of crap, right? Everything I know comes from folks gently correcting me. :D

[identity profile] elwarre.livejournal.com 2015-08-07 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
I like all my friends to be judgy about dumb things and tolerant about what's important. ;)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-08-07 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
Heeeee!! I do like the way your mind works! Now *I* see the frisky little biases too! :)

I blame spell-check and auto-correct for a lot of these, especially "defiantly/definitely," because I'm pretty sure that one's not just a case of the typo also being a word. You type "definatly" and right-click on the red squiggles; the first word it suggests is "defiantly," and both uncertain writers and, presumably, auto-correct, just go with the first one.

P.S. Oddly enough, being weary can make you wary, and being wary can make you weary. :)

P.S. Oddly enough, being weary can make you wary, and being wary can make you weary.

This is true, and if it were earlier in the evening and my brain was still functioning I would come up with something clever to add, but sadly, nah. ;D
