SV, non-spoilery...

...unless you're a total nutcake.

You know, dear friends, last night, really for the first time, I thought wow--that Chloe is cute--no, more than cute, she's really pretty! Really pretty. I was very impressed.

I hate Lana. Yes, sorry, I really do.

I don't think she's pretty--she has a rodent-like quality I find off-putting and strange(hee-hee) in looks and personality, which is why I think when I write her, I try not to trash her. Most of the time.

But when you hook her up in a fic with Chloe, she's interesting and I think in the right hands a very attractive pairing. Chloe takes some of the 'stupid fucking bitch' out of Lana. She completes her. (sorry, sorry...snorfle!)

Mind you, it's highly unlikely that I'll ever write them, but I do like the idea. [livejournal.com profile] shadowstar_gzan made me think of it with her story, "Death March." It comes in two flavors, angsty pain and happpyending. I liked it! I like Chloe! Except really really not with Lex. Thank you.

I love Chloe and Lana! Together or with a third party (male, I've done Whitney, Clark and Lex - tellingly, Clark did not work out, the other two did), I think I actually consider them on a par with Clark and Whitney and slightly above Clex for my liking them. They're one of the few really interesting f/f relationships around and it saddens me a little that so much Lana hate means that the relationship doesn't get explored. There's so much room to play in f/f but I don't know why more people aren't interested.

They're just sweet - in a non-sickening way - together.

People mistake fandom Lana hate as the character, that her motivations and personality are all self-centered and whiny but it's not true, obviously she's meant to be a heroic little girl, and the sort of person who would inspire love in a very decent and heroic boy.

what the writers did with her afterward and the actor's abilities...well....

Myself, I just don't like her. On the show or in RL. Interviews I've read or seen on TV don't do a darn thing to change my opinion of her. In the rare instance she shows up in a fic I write I usually make her very nice because I don't trust myself not to make her a monster which she very plainly is *not*--(except for the one time I actually did make her a literal monster, heh!)

I think that's it--they are sweet together.
They are good together.
