Angry

There are two huge multiscreen theaters in my area and neither of them are showing Brokeback Mountain. Assholes....

Our local multiplexes are being cowardly too.

We have a local arty theater that is being cool enough to show it. I was worried I was going to have to wait for the dvd.

Do you have an arty theater anywhere around there?

None of the theaters near me are showing it, either, and there are five big ones. It's disappointing because I'd like to see it, which I never thought I'd say about a cowboy movie.

The title is pretty awful, though... my brain keeps correcting it to "bareback mountain."

I'm hoping one of the theaters will bump something else this weekend, or maybe one of the theaters at school will have it when I get back on Saturday.

I guess Heath Ledger isn't enough of a draw.

I'm having the same problem here. Chickenshit, cowardly, ignorant assholes! And I'm not exactly living in the heartland of the bible belt either. WTF?? This is a movie that's gotten major Oscar buzz, and they still won't show it? I'm so fucking sick of the homophobia in this country.

It's not even here yet. I want to kill our conservative ministers. *grumbles* Even the DVD mightn't come, I may have to download it from Ares or something..

Wow. I feel extremely lucky. There are three big, multi-plex type theaters near me, and they're *all* playing Brokeback. And I live in a red state! Wanna come to Virginia for the weekend? :)

We've only got it at the one-screen independent theatre out here, despite the two multiscreen theatres. People are ridiculous.

I feel the same ... there is only one theater near my house playing Brokeback Mountain ... and I hope it's still playing there tomorrow night when I go to see it.

How far would you have to drive to find a theater showing it? Houston is so spread up, we don't think anything about driving 30 or more miles.

I saw it once in a teeny tiny art house theater screen. I want to see it one more time on a regular sized screen.
