The perennial question... The one thing I do know is that the plural of hemipenis (the paired set of penises/penii on a snake) is hemipenes... As in 'study of garter snakes reveals that in general the hemipenes on the right-hand-side of the body are larger than their counterparts on the left'. (Yes, people study the hemipenes of snakes and probably even get paid for it.) I've never head anyone call them 'penes' when comparing two men though. *wanders off in deep thought*
Heh. When I spell checked this, the lj spellchecker didn't bat an eye at penises, but penii, penes, hemipenis, and hemipenes all got flagged. :)
Roxy, thank you for bringing up this question, never thought about that. But I have to ask, what prompted this question? Did you align Lex, Clark and Bruce, strip naked and decided you needed a more seemly term than cocks?

Penii if you're going for cute, I suppose.
Or you could stick to the 1001 euphemisms for those things.
