lord....

So the new floor is in now, it looks fabulous, but now comes the awful part of putting everything back where it was--and getting rid of everything I don't *want* back. We had crap from three rooms stuffed into the living room--dang, I have so much damn shit. I have sworn never, ever to go into a Good Will again, no yard sales, no flea markets. As Bob is my witless.

I used to be horrible about yard sales, half the stuff in our house was bought at a yard sale, or Salvation Army, lol! Heck, a lot of stuff came off the street corner. I was large into painting stuff, redoing and reusing, sort of a shabby chic kind of thing, only not obnoxious like that chick, what was her name, gosh she was so annoying....so yeah, new floor. Pergo. Pretty cool. And of course the pattern I chose has been discontinued. It figures. I got the last boxes of it, go me. *G*

La, Thanksgiving dinner, and my father in law and his wife are coming to stay, and the children will be here, and my sister will be staying, I have to cook, get all the furniture back, clean, go to work, and guess who's not going to be writing this week? And gosh, I have so many books. No, no--*SO MANY* books. If worse comes to worse, we can move into the backyard, rent out the house, and build our own house OUT OF BOOKS. It's crazy, ya'll.

*sigh* I had to have my cousin come over and help me throw stuff away, stuff that used to belong to my mom. I've done this about three times, now. I can never do it without her giving me permission, or something. Ah well. Mom, Mom, we both were enormous packrats.

All right, bed time.

I have some couple thousand words written on the JazzClex AU ( [livejournal.com profile] danceswithgary, up to looking it over?) and I haven't left Smallville yet. I'm having too much fun there. And I have a BOS ficlet, that might turn into a longer piece, I'm not sure. And guess what? Lana is a sympathetic and I think, likable character in the BOS universe. Ha!

build our own house OUT OF BOOKS
LOL

You and I seem to be in the same boat with the STUFF (and I won't let myself go to anymore yard sales, either!). I just threw out three huge garbage containers full last weekend, and still have a spare room filled with more stuff. *sigh* And a lot of it used to belong to my mom.

I guess we should be happy with our small steps! ;)

Aw, bay-bee. If i could, i'd come help you. I can throw stuff away like there's not tomorrow.
:)
*smooooooooooch*

I have often thought that I should probably build a house out of books to house my books in.

I love picking up random stuff from the goodwill and garage sales and stuff, but then I have just as much fun letting my mercenary streak go wild and ditching it a couple of months later.

I understand the book problem. I can't get around my bed anymore because I keep tripping over them. It's not like the bed HAS to be made or anything ;)

Oh, I'm so sorry - I missed this post yesterday. :-(

Please send it on through, I'd love to look at it!

I know what you mean about clearing out the 'why did I ever buy this' stuff. The last time we repainted the interior, we were ruthless and I keep reminding Gary that we don't need any more 'stuff' to replace it. We've been doing pretty well, thank goodness, but my daughter still hasn't reached that stage and I cringe when I go into her part of the house.

You too? It's terrible, isn't it? I feel so guilty whenever I toss something of my mom's. But my cousin kindly whacks me one and says if mom were here, she'd have tossed that whatever it is long ago. It helps. :)

I haaaaaate missing yardsales, but there comes a time when you just have to draw the line!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-11-21 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I know we'd have the best time, too! I hope so much one day we'll be able to do that--or just talk about porn, that'd be good too! *GRIN*

Tell Miss Monstrous a tiny package is on it's way--finally! *pats own back, really had to do at this girth..)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-11-21 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
See, you have the good part down, the letting go of stuff. I'm trying!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-11-21 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Tchah--that's what the books are *for*--to screen the bed, lol!!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-11-21 03:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm trying so hard to be ruthless--I want open space with lots less...stuffs...collecting dust.*sigh*

I'll send the story tonight. I'm really getting hung up (again) with writing Clark at home. It's a *completely* different idea than what I first considered--thanks to you!

I appreciate this, my dear!

Heeeee.

I don't... Well, don't be sad or anything but i just wrote in that beautiful journal you sent me, remember? With the pen, so pretty... I had a dream this summer, that i was remembering tonight, that when i had it i thought it meant my dad was going to die, and about a month later he did and i had to write about that dream in there tonight.

But i'm glad i did, i just...don't wanna make your mood bad but i wanted to tell you.
*hugs you hard*

[identity profile] selinamoonfire.livejournal.com 2007-11-22 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't mind that but I keep tripping over them or the kitties get lost in the maze of books and start crying for help. LOL

[identity profile] jakrar.livejournal.com 2007-11-23 01:22 am (UTC)(link)
When my mother's in town, she invariably talks me into going with her to garage sales and estate sales, and far too often I wind up buying things I do not need which then take up too much space in the house. *beats head on desk* You think there's some cure for this junk-fever?
