Jules stared at the smooth black stone on his hand, frowned a little. "Are you sure? 'Cause sometimes, you still look sad."

"Do I?" He laughed, took the stone from Jules hand and skipped, a respectable three skips before it sank without a ripple. "I'm not, love. I'm really not."

God, it makes me so sad that in comparison to what happened when he was younger, Lex's life now is. . . better. And how telling is it that he seems to think things are okay? That this is the way always is, one never-ending torment after another, interspersed with tiny moments of joy? *sigh* My poor Lex. . . :( *hugs Lex-woobie*

And, God, did I love Bruce here! 'Course, I love Bruce everywhere (oh, yes, I did just go there! :), but for some reason that section with him and Clark on the roof really struck me as special and brilliant. He was really a 3-dimensional person for me there, and I am in awe of how deeply you write him. When I read Bruce in your stories (in all the ones he's in), he always comes across as so real. God, roxy, your writing steals my breath and thoughts away. . . *g*

Just a few little nit-picky things: in the sentence below, is it "talk a walk" or maybe take a walk? If it's slang, I apologize. But I thought you might like to know. . .

It was warm enough to be comfortable without coats or hats, so Alex asked Jules if he'd like to talk a walk while they waited, maybe explore the grounds a bit.

Also:

Clark had him pressed against a wall. "If Lex is dies—you're dead too. You could have come with this earlier---why's you wait?"

Maybe dead instead of "dies," and why'd instead of "why's?"

I must sound like a total tool, but I just figured better to say something, than to just. . . well, you get it. Sorry if I'm wrong. :(
