Looks like someone is reading through my Smallville stuff at AO3, best part is they seem to like it--*BEAMS*. Love the hit count feature.

What? You know this about me. ;)

It is lovely to have someone reading through all my SV and SGA stories up there. I get one or two kudos a day and it really is a lift. :-D

Right? It's so nice to see the notices, it's a spirit lifter on a crummy day. :)

Ditto, hon, so much ditto! AO3 is awesomesauce, plain and simple (and so are you--awesomesauce, that is, not plain and simple LOL)!

AO3 is awesome, but the hits feature is giving me a complex. One of my stories has 429 hits, 9 kudos and no comments. Does that mean 400 people read my story and didn't like it? I'm paranoid. :)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2012-02-26 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
HAH! See, yer looking at it all wrong--the thing to concentrate on is "wow--429 people read this story!"
Think of it that way, and ignore the rest! *GGG*

I SECOND THIS. As someone who has two stories that have been up over a year and have under 20 hits a piece (no kudos, no comments) I think 429 plus 9 people who thought to say they liked it is awesome!

I think people feel that AO3 is an archive, and don't feel as obligated to comment as they might on a LJ Comm.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2012-02-28 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
True, even I viewed it a bit like that at first, before I realized that kudos were easy to give and comments work the same as they do on LJ. Still, I'm more inclined to kudos than comment.

That's great people are finding you & loving your stories!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2012-02-27 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
It makes me feel good to know that even when I'm not here anymore, those stories will be and people will be reading them. *G*

Lol - I too have a hitcount addiction. It's the self-esteem equivalent of hershey kisses. ;D

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2012-02-27 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes!!!! Absolutely! Ooh, I need a Hersey's Kiss icon! *GGGG*

(and so good to know i'm not alone in this!)

It is cool, isn't it? I love their kudos feature. They are a bright ray of sunshine every time I get one.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2012-02-27 05:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes,yes! And the absolute best feeling ever is to get a kudo on a story hardly anyone read!

[identity profile] altimeterrise.livejournal.com 2012-02-29 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
It makes me wonder, actually. There's stuff like evil author day to jumpstart WIPs, but why haven't I seen "leave a comment" day? Something like, "go back to five fics you enjoyed, but for whatever reason, didn't leave a comment on, and show your LOVE!"

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2012-02-29 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
You know, that's a *fabulous* idea! I like it very much--I know I've lurked at tons of fics I've loved and been afraid or too lazy to comment.
