OK, I'm a huge Samgirl and I didn't hate this episode. I think it rocked. I know there's going to be a lot of Sam wank out of it, and I really don't want to hear it. I do admit BAMF!Dean is sexy as all hell, and yeah, maybe he has a right to be upset at Sam for not looking for him, but Sam had his reasons. *hugs Sam protectively*

I really like BAMF!Kevin too. That kid is awesome! I'm reserving my judgement on Benny, and I think I'm going to like Amelia.

I liked it. I thought it was a really layered episode. Besides what they showed us with Dean, I definitely think that something else is going on with Sam, too. That there's a whole lot we don't know yet. Look at his body language while he's waiting to find out if the dog is going to live or die. He's practically vibrating his way out of that chair.

Plus, I just went back and re-watched the scene where Dean asked if he looked for him and Sam didn't answer him. He deflected like crazy and his expression just looked off. In no way does he look like someone who just took the year off for 'me' time.

I think that, just like Dean, there's a hell of a lot we don't know yet as to what really happened while they were apart. It's nice to be looking forward to finding out the answers. :)

Purgatory Dean is the hottestt Dean ever! Benny, oh my, I am looking forward to seeing more of him. I hope Dean gets to keep him, but I fear he's going to have to kill him in a super angsty, guilty way.

I think the vet guilting Sam into taking the dog was a really lame attempt to make her sassy. I don't like it one bit. But you were right about the makeup people making her look less attractive than she is.

After all of my bitching, I have to say I loved it. What a great premiere.

Oh, i almost forgot. Sam looks great. Love the hair and scruff.

I completely agree with your Dean squee. Our long-lost bamf Dean is back! Hurrah!
Not so happy with the Sam thing though, I hope that gets explained better because it makes no sense to me.
Kevin is transformed into a mini-badass competent hunter, a new sidekick and friend, which is a good thing, I like it when the boys have someone in the backseat occasionally, it mixes things up.
Benny is off to a good start, very intriguing character.
Not talking about Amelia though, bleah.

You know I was so ready to just hate it, and admittedly the Sam stuff was terrible, (WTF was up with that vet forcing him to take the dog, that was just weird), but OMG, the hotness of purgatory!Dean makes up for everything. I am very excited about where they are going with the Dean/Benny stuff.
