Guess who called out of work on account of snow?

Me!

Because this is me driving in the littlest bit of snow:

airplane sweat

And it just gets worse from there. So--one the one hand, bad because I short my check, I piss off my bosses and I'm not there to provide life-giving socks and t-shirts that the customer so badly needs. On the other hand good, because I get to spam you with my every thought. Silver lining eh?

I'm with you, I hate driving in the snow. Luckily i live only a 20 minute walk from work. My car stays home when we get the slightest bit of snow. Last time it snowed the car didn't move for 10 days!

Loving the 'Airplane' clip!!

You're so lucky! I wish I was in walking distance of work!

Airplane is one of the classics! *GG*

Wheeeeeeeeee!

Aw, poor Miss Rose! I only dislike driving in snow when i'm surrounded by dumbasses who act like it's a bright, dry, sunny day. But - they cancelled school here again, so, nobody had to go out this extremely chilly morning. :)

Spam away!!

Hi! Hi!!

Gaaaaah, I HATE it! Terrifies me, it does! I ended up decorating and cleaning the house. Also good! :)

[identity profile] rosy5000.livejournal.com 2013-12-10 03:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Lucky you! It takes a lot for me to be able to call off because of snow. Though, I usually run late in the winter because I take my good ol' time getting in.

I don't mind driving too much in the snow. It's the idiots in the 4-wheel drives, SUVs and trucks that think they can drive whatever speed they want that I hate. If I could drive on the road all by myself, it'd be perfect. lol

*huggles* Stay warm! ♥

Oh, I'm sure that I'll be hearing about this--they copped attitudes with people who called out during blizzards and state-wide emergencies.

I stayed warm and made the house Christmas-y! *GGG*

Works for me!! :-D I hate driving in snow. I would have to pick up Ethan today because he has his cello and he can't take it on the bus. So i wrote a note that said he had to leave it there and come home on the bus and I'll pick the cello up tomorrow! Now there isn't much on the ground yet, but it's coming down like gangbusters. Karate's not looking so good either.

Roxy's home today! Yay! (Go read my new PWP! ;-) That'll keep you warm!)

Ah, I found it on AO3 and read it there! *GGG*

Tsk, tsk! Naughty! ;)

Hehehehehe!! Had to push the boundary there a bit!! :-D FUN!

I am exactly the same and that is me when it thinks about snowing. We're getting 3 inches or so here today and I called in and said "Yeh, no." I decided the year I went in anyway and ended up nearly totaling the car which then was in the shop for a month, that after that? Not going if I don't feel it's safe. And anything other than snow flurries is not safe for me.

Yup, no job is worth me freaking out all over the place and having a meltdown. I'll deal just fine with the guilt, thank you! :)

That gif is so me when it comes to snow and ice.

Right? It so expresses my feeling of "EEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHNONONONO" that I experience on the rare occasions I'm forced to drive in the snow.

Driving in the snow

Well I'd really love to call in when it snows but I'd get a pink slip if I did ! Believe me I am like the world's worst winter driver! I drive like a tired old lady which is what I am ! I cuss all the other drivers out nonstop all the way to work especially the "Whee snow how nice let's speed along twits! " When I arrive at work I unpry my arthritic fingers off the steering wheel stomp into work ungraciously and put on the coffee pot and then tell all coworkers and staff to Leave me alone for 15 minutes, in the voice of Doom ! Believe me if I could drink on the job I would on snow days! I am grateful beyond price for the years we get a mild winter with little to no snow and the snow days I am off! I am glad there are fellow driving in snow haters here! Like Maxine the great and wise woman of age and many wrinkles loves to say Let it Snow...Somewhere else! Thanks for letting me rant as it did me good!

LOL! You sound like you're describing me. :) I'm grateful that I can get away with a day or two before they start breathing fire down my neck.

And you're very welcome--ranting, that's what the place is for!
