Thanks TNT
Watching Caged Heat--my stars, I totally adored Soulless Sam. They both did such a good job that season. I also like Crowley much better when he's just evil and not pretending to be on their side even a little bit. No matter what he's playing at, any time, any way, he gets all the *very* best lines! Mark Sheppard, no wonder everyone loves him. :)

I love my SHOW!!!

*happy sigh*
I say 'poo' to the naysayers who think that Show isn't good anymore. Every season is it's own awesome!

Also, this constant whining about how they never learn from their mistakes and how they keep going back to the same theme...folks are aware that this is some dysfunctional duo right? And even if it looks the same, it's never really the same. I will definitely grant you Dean's overwhelming concern for Sam's well-being whizzed past unhealthy obsession about 7 years ago but hey!! That's why we watch the damn show. If I wanted to watch a show about how two brothers came to see that they were perhaps too emotionally involved with each other so decided to live lives a little more separate then I would go try to find that show. Hah! No! This is my show, warts and all! In fact, the only thing that pisses me off is folks saying Dean's abusive. hen I'm all:
What the fuck? Overbearing, okay--pushy, yeah--Mr. Know-it-all, sure. But abusive? Sam's being abused by Dean? That makes me feel like I want to:
It pisses me off, because I feel like those folks don't really get what abusive *is*. Shit, you could make the argument that *Sam* is abusive. He's not by any means, but just sayin'....
and sorry for the minions, lately I have a bit of a
crazyazz obsessionthing with them. :Dno subject
Homg, this exactly. Sorry if they're utterly fucked up lives have left them unable to really cope in healthy ways. GET OVER IT. Sheesh. People do a lot worse in real life, and at least Show is entertaining, interesting and pretty, which you can't always say about rl.
Abusive? In what fucking way? Yeah, wow, that's nuts. Just...wrong.
I am lately annoyed by all the 'Sam was betrayed by Dean!!!' stuff. If you really thought Dean would let Sam die when he had *any* other option, you're very, very confused. AND - when Dean said he had a plan, said 'trust me' - Sam did. Didn't question, or demand an explanation or anything, just *trusted him*.
So the whole death-wish thing is garbage, to me. For Sam to say he'd rather just die is a bit over dramatic, really - they're both fucked up, but it was *Sam* saying that the trials would be a 'light at the end of the tunnel' and he was going to show Dean that there was hope....

:) No worries, i luff the minions.

I'm confused at the hate directed at Dean on Sam's behalf. There's not been any moment on Show where Sam's said, "I hate you for the choices you made."

Sam loves Dean, he doesn't want anything bad to happen to him and he wouldn't walk away if Dean was hanging over a cliff, wanting to be saved. The Sam Haters are *not* getting that.
I think Sam's always been a little careless of Dean's feelings but mostly because I don't think he gets that he's the center of Dean's universe. Dean's well-being is totally wrapped up in Sam's safety. If Sam had chosen to stay with Amelia, Dean would have supported it eventually because he'd have to.
I wish the viewers understood more about how this TV watching thing works--we know stuff they don't know now, maybe never will. They're making decisions about each other all the time without all the info we have.
I've limited my reading reviews to only bi-brother leaning reviews. It's cool that two weeks have passed and we're still talking about that ep, yes? :D

And not only about t-rexs. The Dean-hate thing is beyond me. ANY hate is beyond me. They've both done dumb-ass, stupid things, but i've never hated either boy. Or John. Or Lisa or Castiel or Bobby or Ellen or Jo or.... Well, I hated Amelia, because she was just so freakin' *weird*, but i can't hate the boys.
What you said - Dean is an adult, badass, intelligent, sexy *hunter*, who faced down the devil, and angels, and the First Monsters, and the Horsemen.... And whose emotional development regarding his brother stopped somewhere around year 10. Period. Dean *cannot* function without Sam, will always choose Sam, will never leave him unless Sam *makes* him, and how the viewers don't get that after nine years is beyond me.
Sam *is* careless with Dean's feelings sometimes - i put that down to being 'the baby'. But he doesn't hate Dean, never has, never will, and i just....
*hands*
I don't get fandom sometimes.
I think it's *awesome*. That ep was awesome. Cannot *wait* for Tuesday! :)

And that's the key to his character!! And I'm sure so many "oldest kids" who are fans get that totally. Also I agree 100% that Sammy was the baby of the family, for sure! I think Dean *and* John(in his own way) treated him that way and he absorbed that treatment.
omg, girl, I'm all blabby about Show tonight!! Hahaha! Must be the excitement! ;)

No worries.
Yeah, i think they both did. Sure, John was hard on them, but Sam *was the baby*. He was protected from it all for years. He was *different* with John. You saw that when he got in his face and yelled at him and even though Dean got in between and told them both to just back off, Sam *started it*. You know Dean never did that, not once. But Sam could get away with it.
Dude, i luff talking about Show. I'm so sick of people whining and hating and complaining. I want LOVE! SHOW LOVE!!!!

We need to step out in fandom and Kumbaya the hell out of it. ;p

Now, see, Tumblr is actually kind of good for that, 'cause you can find all kinds of pretty, happy things there. :)

Honestly I am more of a Sam girl and I will always defend him, and sometimes Dean's expectations of family meaning everything frustrate me on Sam's behalf in for example the heaven episode from season 5 where I thought that Dean was acting pretty unreasonably, but the show always makes it clear where that's coming from and I just totally disagree with the idea that Dean has been subtly manipulating and abusing Sam over the years :(

Cuz it's true. *drools a bit*

So very, very true! *passes 'round tissues*

Since that evil day several weeks ago when you warmly recommended re-watching "All Hell Breaks Loose," I've been steadily working my way through a complete SPN rewatch. I'm up to mid S7 now, and I must admit that the entire storyline hangs together better than I remembered. A lot of what seemed incomprehensible in the post-Kripke seasons actually comes across as fairly subtle-but-clear with hindsight. I'm enjoying it enormously--much more, even, than I expected to.
Jared was amazing as Soulless Sam. I don't know if you follow

See? This is what's so great about a rewatch--we discover things we missed the first time and seasons we hated make more sense! They're not as good as Buffy the Vampire Slayer when it comes to dropping the clues and wrapping things into a coherent whole (and even BtVS dropped the ball from time to time) but still, I tend not to jump on them right away. Things might look impossibly fucked but eventually things unfold and the greater picture is revealed. :)
I'll definitely look up that essay, thanks!
