Exactly!! Kids these days--they don't know from stacking TVs, stacking records, stacking one vcr with another to recorded from each other...
Back in the old days, there was always a spot at the front door where you could put your cane. Now I'm reduced to carrying everywhere--but you never know when you'll need it to chase those pesky damn kid off the front lawn.
Everyone should witness the peculiarity of a working really sitting atop a broken one. My grandparents had a a working TV sitting on their old huge wooden console that had a record player built in. I never questioned it and it was good and all was right with the world but now it's madness with these slim TVs!
I was considering getting myself a little countertop b&w, one of those portable babies like I had back in, oh, 1981. Was I ever surprised when someone told me you can't find those at all anymore. What the hell? I'll go sit out on the stoop and whittle for entertainment.
LOL!!! Right??? I went out to buy a new TV one day and found out that the one i wanted could only be found at the Goodwill...here, make some room, I got some whittlin' to do, myself. Imma carve me a goldurn TV--a *real* TV....

And you can't smack 'em on the side when the picture craps out, because they don't have sides.
