Agent Carter!

Great fun! I enjoyed it, Mr. R kept pointing out the logic bombs. I almost had to order him from the room. Great flavor, great 40s attitude and surprise CMM! What wasn't to like? :D

I didn't even know that this was a thing. (And here I was thinking that I had stuck a toe in the Stucky fandom...)
I'll have to rope the husband into watching it with me :)

Oh, it was really fun to watch, very pretty, but with good action as well!

so, what's a Stucky?

[identity profile] macaronielbow.livejournal.com 2015-01-09 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my. A Stucky is a slippery slope pairing of Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes from Captain America. Have you seen the movies?

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-01-10 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Oh! I have seen the movies and Bucky was rather pretty but I'm monolithically slow when it comes to fandom stuff. I used to be a multi-fandom reader and now, not so much. What does it all mean? Besides I'm getting old, that is.

[identity profile] macaronielbow.livejournal.com 2015-01-10 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm usually not very aware of other fandoms, but so many good writers started writing Stucky, and then Petite-Madam started drawing a ton of Stucky, and THEN I re-watched The Winter Soldier with my daughter a few months ago and I couldn't not ship it.

I have been keeping it at an arm's distance, though. Who has time for anything not Wincest or J2? I mean, really.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-01-10 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Ach! I'm holding off all other fandoms until this season's end! I can't share brain space right now, even though the Winter Soldier drift is pretty healthy from what I see.

Hayley Atwell has a lot of spark, I think. Hope the show is a hit for her! (Dominic Cooper is a hoot as Howard, or was in the movie anyway. I still have me no tv.)

I loved it, sweetie! I thought that they did a great job of capturing the feel of Cap 1 and then putting their own spin on it.

So, how long do you think it'll be before we find out that there is way more to Jarvis than meets the eye? ;)

Previous Marvel canon has him as being British RAF and a champion boxer before being the Stark butler and the Avengers' go to man. He was the glue that held the Avengers together. He's bound to have depths.

I was very surprised! I don't have a lot of experience with Iron Man's background, so when we move past the movie, I'm lost!

Oooh, was it good? I must find a dl!

Very good--just a lot of Saturday matinee movie-type fun!

I very much enjoyed it! I've been looking forward to it, and it didn't disappoint. I was surprised to realize that Jarvis the robot was based on a 'real' person in the Marvel 'verse.

Right?? I had no idea--cool, though!

It made me wonder about this Jarvis's relationship with Wee Tony. Maybe a substitute father?

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-01-08 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
I'd say more like an uncle--the AI Jarvis doesn't seem particularly dad-like, if I recall correctly.

That's true. I was thinking more like Alfred/Bruce in Gotham. The paternal part of that relationship hasn't been brought out so strongly in previous portrayals of Alfred/Bruce. It's such a touching relationship in Gotham.

I liked it too--it's nice to see a woman kicking ass, and it's fun that it's in the same universe that we already know.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-01-08 02:21 am (UTC)(link)
And she *legit* kicks ass--like a woman, not all like a fake-guy, like some guy's idea of what a tough chick is like. I hate that

So I'm ridic late to this party, but I was all stalking your lj, going through the MANY posts I failed to see till now & I just had to chime in. YAY! I love Agent Carter & I'm thrilled Snuggles does too! There's just about something for everyone in a "civilian" sense and tons for fandom-ers.

Also the first comment thread on this post (re: Stucky)? Oh, Lord, you ladies! Methinks you know how much I worship Bucky and Steve and Bucky&Steve, so putting them together is OTP-ing of the highest order. We're talking Clex and Wincest and every other to-die-for manpain duo (or trio, if you're me and can't seem to write anything not threesome). Anyway, I glommed onto that topic damn quick, lemme tell ya! (And if you should ever want to dip a toe in the Stucky fic water, you better message me, girl, cos I have got the goods!)

You doing ok though? I will forever miss that period of time when we shared a brain and much dark, cynical, dirty fun was figuratively had. *le sigh*

*HUUUUUUUUGLEs for the SNUGGLES*
