Day 6-10, 30 day meme!
6 – When you write, do you prefer writing male or female characters?
I prefer writing male characters. I identify more with the male characters than the female.
7 – Have you ever had a fic change your opinion of a character?
Yes. Whitney. Not my fic, Caroline Baker's story about a high school romance between Clark and Whitney that opened my eyes right up, and made me fall in love with Whit. And made me realize that my OTP could be more than one couple. ;)
8 – Do you write OCs? And if so, what do you do to make certain they're not Mary Sues, and if not, explain your thoughts on OCs.
Oh, so many! I love writing OCs! And in order to make sure they're not Mary-Sues, I don't make them female and I don't name them roxy.
9 – Pairings – For each of the fandoms from day two, what are your three favorite pairings to write?
For BtVS/Angel: Spike/Xander, Xander/Angel, Spike/Angel—not all posted
SV: Lex/Clark, Whit/Clark, Whit/Lex
SpN: Sam/Dean, Dean/OMC—pretty much that's it. :D
10 – Pairings – Have you ever gone outside your comfort zone and written a pairing you liked, but found you couldn't write, or a pairing you didn't like, and found you could?
The only time I went outside my comfort zone was when
legendarytobes handed me a pairing in a challenge she held. It was Lana, Lex, and I did it and it was hard—and I ended up liking it a lot. So, thanks for that! I think she was kind of pleased with me, after I stopped with the bitching and whining. :D :D :D

6-I know why I write male characters--it's a step away from me, my thoughts, opinions, attitudes. I always empathize, but the distance of writing for a male character gives me a breath of perspective I seem to need.
8-I love OCs! Mostly as secondary or tertiary characters. They come out of the woodwork when I'm writing, and sometimes the genre demands I "cast" a RP in that role. But sometimes they're just OCs, and I have more fun and freedom with them than RP characters. They don't carry the story, for one thing, and there are no preconceived ideas about them. But I haven't written a lead OC yet.
Vicarious memeage is fun!
