Hokey smokes--this one actually almost scared me! It was creepy as hell, had me making the ew face at parts, and even yelling at the screen! Sam continues to be kinda amazing, his hair continues to also be amazing, and Dean looks good in sweater. Dear Show, four eps in--can Dean do something, please? Maybe I'm looking at it too hard through my Dean-Girl glasses, but I'd like to see my sweetie-patootie Dean be more, I don't know, heroic? Take charge? A little smarter?

He could! Thank god he lives in Magic TV Land, where concussions and bullet grazes and falling down a flight of stairs or rolling a car down an embankment only leaves you with a slight sting, a sense of dizziness and attractive bruising....

Hey, at least Dean had a moment of self-realization. That's big progress for a guy who holds onto the emotionally important stuff like a limpet.

Honestly, I was expecting Sam's powers to manifest there for a minute or two. You think they're still in there?

Not to put too fine a point on it, but God was in play not so very long ago in Show time; everything's on the table. I'm waiting for Lucifer to realize that if John was Michael's last-gen vessel, Mary might be his. I'm waiting for everything to look totally hosed and suddenly Jesse the Second Least Interested Antichrist (after Adam from Good Omens but before Sam from Reaper) deuses their little red machina. A pagan god who's not eating people, just being super-chill about their whole deal. Mary and a recently resurrected Jess hunting together (Adrianne's pilot fell through, after all). GABRIEL! for crying out loud! Facing off against Lucifer with a well-appropriated "Are you ever not going to fall for that?" Charlie Bradbury, are you ready to be strong? Sarah Michelle Gellar leading an all female team of Ghost Facers! The return of James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter as the witch couple! A baseball bat wrapped in barb wire offered with no commentary whatsoever. :) It's season 12, people; no such thing as bad ideas! (Except the moon being a space dragon egg that does stupid gravity tricks and immediately lays another moon-egg upon hatching. That was stupid, and I do not forgive Doctor Who.)

I agree--I was surprised that he had that moment. I think him not telling Sam sprang not from that keeping secrets place of theirs but from sheer embarrassment of the macho man type.

I absolutely still think they'er in there--Ruby said so, didn't she? Anyway, *I* believe that they are there and I write Sam like that a lot. I think that without demonic interference, they're probably naturally pretty weak, except for the occasional adrenaline punch. In my head canon, the powers were damaged what with Sam burning himself out killing Lilith, but still quietly lurking deep down inside... ;)

Yes to this!!! There's not been enough Dean for me either. These first three eps have kind of focused on the sainthood (and prettiness) of Sam Winchester and I'm kind of getting tired of it.

I'm more than eager to have a Dean-centric episode. I'm wondering why this concentration on Sam...unless it's to let Jensen take time off to be with his wife?

Oh, that's a really good point. I wonder when she is due? Last photo I saw of her at some recent event it kind of looked like she was 4-5 months. But not being a pregnant-ologist, especially a twin one, I'm not sure.

According to a certain gossip comm, or as I call it, The Pit of Rabid Cannibal Voles, she's probably due at the end of November, early December? Beats me. I have to say, her face is really wide this go--last time, she barely ever looked pregnant at all. I was surprised she got so big so quickly, but I imagine carrying twins must be a whole new ball game. Lucky they're rich--nannies all around! Heck, that's the first thing *I* would do, lol!
