I've been wandering around LJ, trying to read and failing. I just can't concentrate.

Today at work, I wrote a few sentences on my Mariposa ficlet. I miss Lucas something fierce, my friends. He wasn't supposed to make an appearance in this fic because he can't but my brain wanted him anyway. Also, you know what I hate? Stories in which the lovers are separated for years and years and years--and never have sex with anyone but themselves until reunited with their loved one. Um...yeah, sure you're right. Maybe it's just me, but I'm not buying that. So, yeah--Lex may be separated from Clark, but he's having sex, yo. I'll be discrete about it. ;)

BTW, are you going to be posting that to AO3? I've been reading quite a few of your shorter fics and I've kinda been in the mood to re-read Mariposa too (and get my heart stomped on all over again). But I'm feeling too lazy to go through the LJ links, though I did to save How I Spent My Summer Vacation and A Young Kryptonian's Travels. hee

I'm all for Enduring Passion in a story (as you may have guessed), but damn. Sexual people will be sexual. I don't need every casual encounter depicted, or even mentioned particularly, but a declaration of absolute "faithfulness" over that long-lost period just strikes me as banal and juvenile.

This may just be me, here, but I'm pretty sure Lex had sex when they were separated for days and days... But maybe I'm overestimating the length of time he can go without someone sexually assaulting him for being just that sexy.

OMG!! I'm trying to post Mariposa and I just keep having problems!!! The darn thing jumps from spacing to no spacing to bold type to a different type face all together and I'm ready to pull my hair out! *NO* idea what's wrong. I've had very little trouble before. *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

Oh well. Still working on my ficlet with no idea where it's going, lol!

I'm planning to post all the SV stuff there, eventually. I does look good at AO3. :)

Exactly! I find it all too Harlequin Romance for me. I've never been able to imagine any of my characters pining for ten years...though I think I might have had Lex hang out with only his hand for company for years...but that's Lex. Lex can use the power of his mind to survive abstinence. Unless I'm writing him as a slut--which is my favorite way to write both Lex and Clark...but I' m babbling here.

Another reason they should not pine for years--the angst, omg, and you know I like an enormous heaping handful of that. *g*

And yes, a tiny sprinkle of Lucas. Unless he won';t shut up, you know how he can be....

I like your notion of Lex as alternatively either willful enough to survive abstinence for a long period, or slutty enough to fling himself about without concern. Both versions work for me!

PS Have you watched Breaking In? Mikey's appeared in both episodes so far, funnier than hell (though of course, COMPLETELY un Lex-like). I enjoyed seeing him. He's awfully good at stealing the scene.

Oh, Breaking In! Michael is an *enormous* scene stealer--hasn't he always been? *G* He made me laugh out loud!

And he's looking pretty good, too! :)

The eyebrows gag made me do that sudden, silent expulsion-of-air laugh that comes when you weren't quite expecting to laugh. OMG that was funny. And his DELIVERY--he's freakin' hilarious.
