This Thing Of Ours

First, I'd like to thank [livejournal.com profile] nataliadarimini, whose lovely lovely gift came at a point where I was feeling crappy as hell and really sad but telling myself, "Hey, you're great, you're neat and gosh darn it I like you!" and then I got my cool gift and I really did feel better! *smile*

The next day, all my little friends at Targe-hell made a big fuss over me for no reason, and that made me feel really good!

I’d also like everyone to give [livejournal.com profile] mecurtin a round of applause and also chocolates for helping me out on this never ending supposed to be a short fic L&C Do Europe.

So, I'm feeling pretty good all in all. Hormones my dears play a major part in my tailspins--thank god they don't last very long. Look--I'm dancing even!

Also, I've read quite a bit about the young lady and her ill-advised post. You know what I mean. You know--I feel for her. What she did was...well, not very well thought out, to put it mildly, but I can't help but feel sorry for her. Don't know her, never read any of her stuff but my god, the embarrassment. The response seems to be universal and negative.
I always figured this whole thing was for fun. I think of it as a self-challenge, a way to keep mentally agile. (I could be doing crossword puzzles but chose to do this instead.) And let’s be honest, a lovely way to get ‘atta-girls’. At this point, I also figure I owe my reader. I’m asking you to come in, read my story. You don’t have to, you choose to. I feel I have an obligation to at least try and finish what I start, and to make it as good as I’m capable of. I always thought of it as me doing it for fun and your feedback as the icing on the cake. Would I do it without it? I did it when the only feedback I got was from my beloved [livejournal.com profile] tabqui. Check my archives—tsk! Lol! But I was having fun, and so was she and that’s what brought me here and kept me here.

So let’s be clear. You don’t owe me a damn thing; this is for your pleasure. We write for each other don’t we? Maybe she forgot that—I couldn’t tell from the one post I read. A lot of people have had very smart and thoughtful comments on this subject. I just saying she seemed to have lost the concept of This Thing Of Ours.
Thus endeth the ramble!

P.S. However, if you feel moved to send me pics of nakit boys in gratitude, don't stop yerself!

eta:Oops! sorry about that!

I am working on it, trust me :D
your email address is in your userinfo page, right??
your birthday is soon!!

and for the lady you mentions, I read what she and others had to say, I like you do not know her , nor did I know her fics (which made the whole more worse was, according to what i read, it was not solely her work, but some sort of collaboration work with other authors).

anyway, I did not comment, but honestly??
I know the legal problems you could all get yourself involved in even asking for money (thecaelum posted a big entry about all the legal risks and such)
but honestly, I have paid for fazines, and for some fics in our fandom??
I would gladly hand over money, I mean I pay for books in the bookstore, and some of them do not have the quality we have in fanfictions..but this is only my , I guess, unpopular opinion, so I better be quiet...

Oh, no doubt that there's wonderful, wonderful fic that I would pay for and if it was presented to me in a zine format, I'd gladly pay, but not for the fics on line. I think you're making the agreement between you and your reader that when you post it in a public place like LJ, it's meant to be freely shared. My thoughts anyway.

*hug* yeeeeerrrrss, nekkit boyz...for meeeee....*

Mmmmm...I think I'll start charging in nekkid pictures as well...think it'll work??

*sloppy kiss*

That probably depends on the currancy you charge it in. If it's coinage rolls or cash. probably trouble, but if it's fic's then there's no harm there- is there?

1 fic for a suggestive pic.
3 for full frontal?
5 for action pics?
There has to be a good scale there somewhere?

Yep yep, I DO!!!!

You are quite welcome, darling.

Alas, I would give you pictures of nakit boys, but I don't have any such thing. Which is really sad, now I think about it.
