Suuuuuuuuupes!

My niece took me to see Superman at the Imax, and I'm glad I went to see it. not only was it beautiful and moving (the first bit) it inspired me like crazy, it reinforced my love for the Boys. You know, Brandon did a nice job-he was a good Superman, he was a decent Clark. Spacey wasn't bad, he wasn't that clown horror Hackman was. I wish he'd played it just a little scarier though, the parts he freaked were great.

Watching Brandon made me realize that Thomas will probably aways be my Superman, and Mikey will always be my Lex.

And, I'm going to kick both their asses something fierce in the next story. Because I love them and love hurts.

When the movie was first introduced and the trailers for it's arrival where everyone i told myself wasn't going to go see it, but i'm glad it did.

Even though i agree with you with Spacey and i still think that Lois was weaker thank i'd have liked her i really loved Brandon's protrayal of superman, even though he didn't really get a chance to play Clark.

I think the visual effects where stunning and i think alot of the scenes, most of them really reenforced the fact that Superman is alone.

Oh, yes, I agree. I think that concept eas well done.

...I really need to see this movie. I wonder if it will be still in the dollar theatres.

Whoo hoo!

*bows*

Yeah, it's worth seeing on a big screen. I'm not converted--just enjoyed a pretty movie. *g*

[identity profile] herohunter.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 12:02 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought it was pretty meh, myself.
But hey, you liked it so I'm happy!
:D

It was beautiful to look at, they payed lovely attention to detail. I have to say, every scene with Spacy I substituted Mikey. He would have played the *hell* out of it--he'd have brought a lot more to it than Spacey did.

[identity profile] herohunter.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought so too. Spacey had ONE Michael moment in there, but he didn't impress me. His evil plan was kinda meh too.

If I may, the movie was pretty boring to me. I honestly thought, during the beating-on-Spes scene, "Jeez, where's Roxy when we need her?" cause you do hurt like nobody. Also, I thought that Brandon as Supes was too woody, he had no epression on his face, maybe THAT'S why I didn't feel that beating. He was ok as Clark, though, that groofy grin was CReeve all over again!

Also also, Lois was a whimp. She ASKED her hubs if they were going to let her into the hospital, she would have never doubted were she the REAL Lois! AND she had no butt!!

*grumblegrumble*
They need to make Smallville The Movie!
:D

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, don't get me started on Lios--that whole bit was a mess, from the lousy mother she was to the way they acted with each other--never once did I believe it was a great love.

As for it being boring--yes, the end part dragged to me. The beginning was incredible but that part with the stupidassevil plan, yeah.
though I must say, when Supes flew that crystal continent into space--wow! I liked that so much.
I think Brandon will get better with time if they get the chance--I understand it didn't perform anywhere near what they wanted.
honestly thought, during the beating-on-Spes scene, "Jeez, where's Roxy when we need her?"
heeeheheheheheee!

I have love for what Singer did even though yeah, I have some issues with the film and its redundancy. Of course, the love I have for the movie in no way mitigates the love I have for SV and Mt. Welling. Which means now I have a minimum of three Clex incarnations in my head: Justice League/Superman TAS, Smallville and Superman Returns. Oy!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
lol!! I *love* JLA Lex, and DC has been very interesting with Lex. So sure, I get the multiple loves. *G*

One thing I liked so much about the movie was that the kid made flying look like the most fun you could have, and that his powers weren't an unfortunate affliction that reminded him daily what a freak he was--teenage Clark was loving the hell out of it!

Lex Luthor: Man of Steel! LOVE IT!

Right? Singer's take reminded me of Superman TAS with that. Except the animated Clark started out a bit mopey, but the flying's what changed his mind about being a "freak."

You know my theory about Smallville Clark and why he doesn't fly (beyond the fact that it's hella expensive *g*)? Flying is the last thing that separates him from the rest of us. Not flying is an act of will for Clark, a conscious choice. The moment he embraces that difference? He becomes Superman.

*gigantic light bulb*
Omgosh, yes, yes! That's so true! What a wonderful moment that would be too--everything that happened before would be nearly meaningless compared to what was about to happen, in a way.

LOL! More then you *normally* do?? I'm so so scared

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Tcaaaaaah--be not afraid--well, maybe a little...*evolgrin* After all, Abi's not writing the hurty angsty sticky Clex--we have to take up the slack. *nods*

[identity profile] chimosa.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 03:11 pm (UTC)(link)
*you* pick up the slack. *i* hide under my bed and pretend I totally didn't read and enjoy whatever you just wrote that's gonna send me to therapy

Awwwww! *pinches your cheeks*
You know just what to say to make me smile!

You can say that again. Routh was ok but I say never send a boy to do a mountain's man's job.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, yeah that's right!

"Watching Brandon made me realize that Thomas will probably aways be my Superman"

Only probably? Ahhhh *Cries*

I will always picture Tom as Clark/Superman on your stories!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2006-08-23 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
LOL!!
He is, beloved. If I ever wrote DC fic, Thomas would still be my Superman!

[identity profile] saltwatergirl.livejournal.com 2006-08-22 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Tom = Thomas Why has that never occured to me?
Brandon Routh is so regal as Superman. But I'd take Tom over him anyday. :)

Christopher Reeve will forever and always be 'Superman' to me...

I'm glad you liked it!

*smooches you all up*

He was the perfect Superman. It's like that role was waiting for him to be born.

thomas would have made a pretty good superman, but I guess that ship has sailed. :(

Where did the butterflies come from? They're beautiful.

aren't they? I subscribed to the Mary Dover clipart book on line and they always have these lovely big samples of the art in the book.

I get the Dover Sampler, too! It's so very nice, all that free stuff.
