Birthdays!

Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] dana_aeryn ! Hope it's a very good one!

[livejournal.com profile] betrue, I hope your birthday is excellent also. Thank you so much for being a friend to me, you amazing person you.

It's my mom's birthday today too. It's been 23 years since she's been gone. it doesn't seem possible it's been that long. She died two days after my 30th birthday. After all this time, I've lost the sound of her voice. But sometimes, I remember the way she felt hugging her, and the feel of her giggling when I made hamster nosies on her. She taught me everything I know that's worthwhile to know. She also taught me this really cool joke where you fold a napkin and it looks like a rising dick, but sadly, I forgot how you do that...sorry Mom. Oh yeah, and I don't iron undershirts anymore either. Come on, that was nuts! *G*

And to all my friends, I hope this new year is going to be better, or more fun, or quieter, whatever you need it to be. Me, I'm wanting a tad less drama in RL and LJLand, starting with myself--*G*

Also, could this 'candle' fold be the one you were thinking of?

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-02 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahahahaaaa! No, the one she showed me was definitely *not* a candle, but I have to tell you, if I walked into a dinner party and saw *that* on my plate, it would be all over for me!! Thanks so much!

*hugs back* thank you!

your mother must've been a lovely person. i like remembering my mother, too.

best wishes to you in the new year, you spring chicken, you. (i'm two years older and almost all gray.)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-02 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
She really was. I love telling Mom stories!

Oh, yay! I'm a spring chicken!
Which reminds me, it's time to change the facofevol pic to reflect the state of the advancing gray! I've been graying since my twenties--I guess it's fair to call my hair white now! *g*

Happy birthday to MamaMissRose who sounds as wonderful and sweet as her daughter.

There's no love like a mother's love and we carry it with us always. It's the best gift. ::hugs you::

I was about to say that I am sorry that you are missing your mother, but I am actually not sorry. Everyone deserves to be missed, and remembered, and I am sure that that fact is doubly true of anyone who was capable of raising such a quality person.

I hope you have an excellent New Year as well.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-03 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
You're right! It's a sorry thing if you pass out of this life with no notice at all. Every person influences other people, makes some difference in someones life. My mom meant a lot to so many people, not just us. And thanks, any part of me that's okay she totally gets the credit for...or the blame, depending on your point of view, LOL!!

Thank *you* hon. I'm so glad to have met you here on LJ!

Was the 2nd really your Mom's BDay? I've only ever met one person who also had their birthday on the 2nd. It sounds like your mom was one hell of a woman (and had a fair hand in shaping you, as well). (((Hugs))

I can't imagine my mom showing me a napkin trick like that! LOL!

I hope your real and fannish lives are the wonderful things you deserve this year. :)
