Labyrinth (is that what it was?)

Loved it right up until the end, which was written by twelve year old fan-girls. Must they keep beating that dead rotten, decayed effing horse? How dare they make us believe that Stickie is the reason my boys come to hate each other? What a stupid idea. Even I wouldn't write it that way, and I *suck* for logic! I mean, certainly Clark understands that Lex can't be trusted, and that his personal agenda is in the end, dangerous and destructive--but what really gets his knickers in a knot is Lana? "OMFG!!! U took my grl!!!!11" He's 18--19--whatever-he's not 14 anymore. Most guys are all fuck you you creep, and keep going. They grow up and move on.

And Lex. Please. Flaunting Stickie like that, peeing on her leg and stuff. My Lex is not a twelve year old stuck in a grown man's body.

*koff*--aaaaand back to the ep...Thomas did an excellent job. I felt his confusion and longing, his anger at the topsy-turvy world he was in, poor boy! And how horrible for him to see fear in his mother's eyes. Boy, Annette did a good job with that didn't she? Besides looking absolutely fabulous! She was born to be Mrs. Luthor.

Okay, say what you will about her, but I thought Chloe was great in this ep! She does crazy so well—it was creepy to realize that she was actually loosing it bit by bit as she talked to Clark—and to see it on his face, that ‘oh my god’ look…good stuff!

Lex--ah, poor spoiled rotten Lex. Michael does that tear shimmering in the eyes better than anyone, gosh! He once again nailed it for what he was given. It’s possible he pleased me so because I love him so but, wow. He put so much power into those short scene with Thomas. Those two must still enjoy working together, their scenes are so intense, so full of emotion....

On the other hand, in any scene except those with Michael, Stickie is just…boring as hell. She looks uncomfortable talking or touching Clark. How can she have such sex appeal with Lex and be so blaaaaaaagh with Clark? One of life’s mysteries, I suppose, like why do socks disappear in the dryer, and why am I the only one who gets those little hairs caught…but I digress..

Also, Phil Morris? Weeeeeell, I am preparing a plate chock full of my own words in a light cream sauce. The man is wonderful as J’on J’onzz! Jackie Childs who??

So, I put in my vote for this as a fun episode. It didn’t move anything along, it did bring that stupid love thing back, so I imagine we have to suffer through more of that crap, but all in all, a most enjoyable outing!

I'm baffled as to why the writers keep bringing that back when they have everything in place to make it go away for good. Don't believe what they tell you now. Clark and Lex were at blows last year, not over Lana, but because of Milton Fine and space ships and Lex's crazy ways of dealing with everything.

Phil Morris did do a good job. Michael's scenes with Tom... wow. More pls!

true, true--my prejudice against her makes me want to lay all the blame at her feet, I guess.

Ack! I hate her!

Okay, *whew* Better now.

[identity profile] ladydreamer.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you want... you can blame her for putting a bug up Clark's butt saying she doesn't trust Lex when she should really be kissing his bald ass for getting her off for murder scott free. Or for lounging around Lex's place when she knows he might have a thing for her and bitching about what a bad boyfriend Clark is and making Lex feel protective. Or saying things about Lex to Clark to make him jealous. Or stealing Lex's car and getting him killed with deadliner kryptojuice. Or being a piss poor friend to Chloe. Or making Lex feel that he has to be even more possessive over her because she's let him know that he is in fact the second choice.

I can't stop myself.

oh, but you're saying it all so well!

Don't encourage me >:)

*TAKES A DEEP BREATH* OR! letting Clark think that he still has a chance with her and not telling her about the baby!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
*blink blink*
LET'S KILL THAT BICTH!!!!!!!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Yo...*whacks self* bitch. bitch.
I really can spell. Really.

[identity profile] ladydreamer.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
We can add causing you to transpose letters to her list of crimes.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
*nods* she is the devil.

[identity profile] jakrar.livejournal.com 2007-01-27 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
Yes. Yes, she is.

I thought the acting was great. Tom was really, really good. I liked Chloe, too. Realizing she was nutzo as well...

The AU just made an odd sort of sense that the real show *doesn't*.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Oh gosh...yes. You know, I'll bet somewhere out there is an AU fic just like this--I mean these guys can't have been the first to think x-over with Buffy. You *know* she was on the ward somewhere. *G*

[identity profile] quiet--tiger.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Haha, the whole time Clark was pictured in the institution, I couldn't help but think "Buffy did this already!" Clark even wound up crying in the corner like Buffy did.

I'd love to read a fic like this, where Clark is institutionalized for making up his world. It'd be cool.

And dude omg what would you have done if Sarah Michelle Gellar was just chilling in the background somewhere?!?!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
HAAAAAAH! that would have been the ultimate coolness!!!

You know by the end of the ep I wanted him to have Lana because thats just what he wants, and what he's always wanted, no matter what I think of the girl. I thought it was sweet the way he it played out, and he gave props to Chloe too for being an amazing friened. I was pretty happy with the ending.

And I know a lot of people are mentioning Buffy (who were not by any means the first to do such a scenario) but I never really liked that ep of Buffy, I thought they made it too esoteric, I liked SV's take on it much better.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Either Lana is meant to be a symbol of Clark trying to hold onto his childhood, being reluctant to take the step away from her, from Smallville and go for it as Supes, or AlMiles have an unhealthy love for that girl. Or--the guys I grew up with were harsh dicks who never loved anyone as much as Clark loves Lana. Quite possible, because I don't think I ever loved anyone that much. Could be part of the reason I'm so impatient with it. Like I say, Lex and Lana I kind of like. Those two, erg.

I kind of liked that Buffy ep, even though I admit to screaming like a banshee because they didn't put it to bed all nicely tucked in and explained--but that was also why I liked that episode.

and on the other hand,(always an other hand) I liked that they didn't do that to us with this SV episode.

[identity profile] tragicllyhip.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 02:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess once you just forget about what you want to see and just focus on what makes sense for the show, its easier, the one consistant thing about Smallville is that right or wrong, Clark has always loved Lana, and they haven't had any real closure, and Clark is definitely not a dick, lol, he's a very sweet boy with a big heart. I really loved this episode, can you tell?:D

WORD.

Of course, I was pretty underwhelmed by S6 as a whole. Also, S4 and what I saw of S7. :points to icon:

Is it odd that the crazy world made sense?

TW and MR did an awesome job!! They both were so emotive and convincing in the crazy world!!!! Phil Morris totally rocked too!!! Yay for J'on J'onzz!!!!

And yes, quite an enjoyable outing!

But, can I PLEASE kill Lana?? Pretty please with a cherry on top??

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
oh my god, you would be doing me an awesome favor if you did. They just make her so unlikable. (poor KK. I really feel sorry for her sometimes. I want to make her a cake--and make her eat the whole damn thing, for gods sake!))

My money's on Lex beating you to it. Not too long after the Spawn is born, in fact.

[identity profile] rosy5000.livejournal.com 2007-01-27 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Yep... I agree. :)

I just wanted to cuddle poor Clark through the whole thing in the asylum. He looked so cute when he was confused and distressed.

Lex! Oh, poor, poor Lexie! Why must he always be the one beat up, tied up, or injured. :(

Lana in the asylum with Clark looked so fake, and that little head nod to the doctor... just made me think she was up to something evil. When she said about Clark's destiny being with her, all I could think was that's damnation, not a life. :P

I honestly knew nothing about J'on before he was in Static and only learned a bit about him after that. After tonight... I may just have to do some major research. ;)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-01-27 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
Lex has every right to hate the world after what Smallville has done to him, poor woobie-kins!

And Clark was so amazing I went selectively blind everytime he was on screen. The only thing I could see was him!

I'm snickering at that, but I kind of want to cry.
