Working on the Steven King challenge thing. 9,762 words. Lotta words. My stories are making me cry. But not in a good way. See? Very sad.

The weather here in South Jersey is very warm. It's kind of odd. I took down Christmas decorations wearing a tee-shirt. Well, and pants of course, my neighborhood isn't that liberal. I took my perfect tree to the curb. It still smelled great. It was a good tree. The giant poinsettia still looks incredible, and considering that it's living with me, this is a miracle. I'll be sad when it dies, and yes, it's going to die. No tips on keeping a poinsettia for eternity. I don't care.

I'm contemplating moving my dad from the nearly unaffordable place he's living in now to a place we can afford. I've done some research and apparentally, no such thing exists. He could live here with us, but then again, I could also stab myself in the brain and save us all a lot of trouble.

I miss my Clitney. Who else is writing it beside me and supercaptain182? Who's writing the Brex? Why is everyone writing Bruce/Clark?

I'm so grumpy....

ETA: I'm a little less grumpy now, thank you myownghost so please let me say that it's not that I don't like Clark/Bruce, I've read wonderful stories with the two--I'm enjoying theclexfactor's excellent series, and jen_in_japan's incredible stories. It's just...once upon a time Brex ruled the land, and I miss those days. *sighs, lifts her enormous head up and waves her tiny arms about. "where are you, my sisters, where have you gone?"...stumbles into the tarpit...*

Maybe it'll cheer you up to hear (or read, as the case may be) that I have some Brex planned (and by planned, I mean outlined and waiting for me to get off my duff and type it up). And no Bruce/Clark in that story, either. Though I don't see how I could put any Clitney in it, I'm afraid.

I hate to say this since you're grumpy, but the way your very vivid descriptions have me giggling.

I don't know who is writing Brex. I read a very sad one but that's probably not what your looking for. And if my Muses win, there may be Brex in my future. Though I keep Thwaping those Muses upside the head and telling them to shut up. Soooo I'm hoping there won't be Brex in the future.

I think part of the Bruce/Clark thing is the comics, though I really don't see it.

Brex almost always has to be sad. There's no way that they can ever end up together, happily. I think I've only written one Brex story that had a happy ending. *encourages your muses*

I think Bruce/Clark in comics practically screams it, actually. I have a few graphic novels that are all about the ho-yay. If you're me, that is, heh!

In SV, no, not at all--I'd think it kind of borders on non-con, unless Lex is in the mix--but in DCverse, it can be amazing.

The only problem I sometimes find is folks occasionally want to write Clark like a girl, and their relationship like a high school romance. I don't get that--ick!

I have to say though, that this post cracked me up. It is also very warm here in Michigan, it's kinda frustrating (and creeping me out) cause, well, I just finished pulling all the cold weather clothes out of storage and now it seems pointless (65 in January!). I was picturing coming home from work and seeing my neighbor removing her decorations in a t-shirt and nothing else and I couldn't help but snicker. I almost wouldn't put it past her. ; )
Plus, the comments about the plant and not sending tips. I kill every plant that every finds its way into my home, even cactus. My family, however, all have green thumbs and are constantly giving me tips on how to keep things alive. I've tried the tips and it still didn't work so, like you, I have just become resolute that plants will look good for a small amount of time but that the extra effort is better spent elsewhere, no matter what.

I have no idea what happened to all the Brex. Is it just me or does there seem to be an overall lack of Lex fic in general? I have trouble even looking at Lex nowadays, so that's my excuse.

As for Clark/Bruce, I'm a little world's finested-out, or whatever. My f-list is full of it, and I'm only even reading a small portion.

Hopefully there will be a little more diversity soon.

Yeah...SV has fucked his character up so horribly bad that I don't blame MR for wanting to get away--*I*I want him to get away. They took the coolest character on TV and gutted him, the bastards. But that's why we should all be writing Lex--to fix it!!

Yep, there's definitely a cycle here. When I hopped on board the LJ bandwagon, Brex was the flavor of the month. It all comes and goes, some things thank god, quickly.

I know it hurts, but it was simply time for the Brex to end. It ran a good course against all odds, it was merely time for Bruce to move on to other more supermany things. And while it saddens you, rest assured that Bruce has gone and is in a happy home with his snuggly alien love slave...., heh..

I haven't been reading. I want to be reading! I've been writing. Hee! you have me beat in the word count,but that's okay. Stephen King has us both whupped.

I was playing around with the sims this evening -- I found a wonderful creative person who had braided hair(yay!) and other different styles, and I was experimenting with my favorite model with them. (yes, tis Ripley, and in no way is this a prod or anything! I just love to create characters as sims. Anyway.
