Hey Everybuggy!!

I know--let's play a fun game--let's play 'Spot The Roxy' in my stories! Come on, you know you wanna do it!

So, how about you guys, ever put yourself in a story, ala Alfred Hitchcock, or Spike Lee? Or put your personal biz in a story? Man, I pretty much mine my life for fic. Just itty bitty bits, and, mostly boring stuff--I mean, *I've* never abused anyone with a kryptonite dildo. Pretty sure the rest of you haven't and if you have, no sharing. Why do I put myself in a story? Well, mostly because I'm an incredible smartass and also, it makes me laugh. I think anything that makes me laugh is a good thing.

Well, back to work again!

Well, of course I use bits of my life in my writing. What's the use of hanging around for fifty years if you can't beat people over the head with pass on some of your hard-earned wisdom.

You will note a distinct lack of tall, slightly chubby strawberry blondes of an interesting age populating my stories, there's just an occasional real-life snark or two.

Except, of course, for that little cameo in that dancing CLex story. *grin*

You see, age has it's benefits!

Except, of course, for that little cameo in that dancing CLex story. *grin*

And that *had* to be done!!

I wish I could, but then how ever would Lex and Clark or Dom and Brian get it on with a creepy panting chick in the corner?

*SNORFLE*!!!!

[identity profile] me-ya-ri.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
Most certainly! Though mostly I use my extremely snarky workmates in my stories. They're positive storehouses of snark, which I tend to be short on. I don't put myself in very often but I do slip in there from time to time. ^_~

see? it's fun, isn't it? I've used a co-worker before, too. I put in a guy I had a massive crush on in one fic--that was very amusing!

Occasionally I have put myself into a story. But those were my Star Wars ones.

I've never written myself into a SV story, but Cold Feet was about me and Jay. He kept complaining about my feet and so I decided to immortalize his complaints in fan fic. I'm an ebil fangirl when annoyed. ;)

LOL! Ah, the perfect revenge! Write 'em into a fic! *G*

[identity profile] selinamoonfire.livejournal.com 2008-03-01 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
LOL That's what I thought. He's still complaining about it.

All of my stories have life experiences of mine, my family or friends' in them!

:D

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 04:28 am (UTC)(link)
Aaaaaaah...that's why they're so tasty, I'll bet! *hug*

Me, not so much of the Fam, but little snippets of my mom, or me, and even my dad from time to time work their way into a story.

I wouldn't say I've drawn on life experiences, but I put sense memories in there a good bit. Certain feelings I've had from time to time go in, as well. :)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-29 04:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, I see! That's the sort of thing that makes a fic more *there*, I'd say.

Now pardon me while I leer at your icon....

I haven't really made a me character, though I have been known to Mary Sue a little when I write het fic. But it's been, like, high school since I've done het fic. From time to time, I do have characters do/say/think things that I've done. Mostly it's the other way around though: I'll write something unintentionally that mirrors some trauma I'm going through, and I'll write and explanation for it and realize that I can apply it to my situation. It's sort of like talk therapy with yourself.

And, on at least two occasions, I've written close friends into stories for fun. Always in positions that they like.

Hunh! That's very interesting--especially that you're doing it unconsciously. It's great that you can think things through and address them that way. I think writing is therapeutic anyway. Nothing feels better than world building!

Yes yes!
But mostly i put stuff like...Spike liking lemon drops or Xander having cats. That are named after two cats in an Alice Cooper song.
:)

Stuff like that.

i liked your hitchcockian walk-on in mariposa a lot. :)

my own stories are too few to have worked up a way to insert myself. ahhh, so to say. into the story, you know. yes.

ahem.

In my original fiction, I always make myself an avatar. And then I kill/maim him/her.

I, um, might have issues.

:0)

Well, in every sex scene of mine, just imagine that Clark is me. Then, imagine that Lex is me.

And there you have it!
The opposite of annonymous-sex!

Truly - my first marriage was the kind where every week I wanted to divorce the bah-stard, but ooooh hunny, that bastard was a fuckin-Devil and how. So, all my sex stuff is written from memories, which is why writing CLex has been so cool: it reminds me of so much that I would normally not have recalled.

In fact, it was reading all the CLex, when I first entered the slash part of Fandom, that let me realize that my hubby wasn't just a dominating prick - he was a Dom prick who didn't need the leather and chain trappings. Having been a Catholic Schoolgirl Goody-2-Shoes, who knew?

This is why the first (pervy) stage of my CLex fic-ing helped me unearth all the hot-but-twisted stuff I'd suppressed since leaving the s.o.b. and it was actually a healing process.

That's why I'm really happy to be in my second stage of CLex writing: light romantic comedies drenched with non-pervy hotness, because I couldn't write it if I hadn't really 'moved on', as they say. yay!
