Also, please explain why in AUs, Mikey is always bald? And border-line insane, or so stupid he can't find his ass with both hands and a map?

It's horrible, beloved! I click on every link that mentions Thomas and Mikey, and almost every single time, I'm disappointed. I've never heard any gossip painting Thomas as a diva, and Mikey can be off-the-wall, but he's *hardly* an idiot. These writers act like all that defined Mikey was the lack of hair. And as far as I know, when Jensen was on SV, everyone got along okay. *siiiiiiiiiigh* I need to stop obsessing about this, lol!

He's not an A-hole in all of them but yeah I notice the trend a bit. I notice that Milo from Heroes often gets cast in the baddie or rival role as well in the few that feature him.

(as an aside, I must confess I find it slightly amusing that a guy is being characterized as the EVOL instead of just the girls)

Chad as the douchey friend is a very common theme but it might be true as I don't know how he is.

As a CW RPS'r, I always make it my mission to stress that:

A) Michael is fun-loving but very, very intelligent, (hello people, he went college and he directs, acts, and writes?)

B) Tom is not Cher. Nor is he Diana Ross. He is a hard-working, intelligent man.

I hope that I've always had them come across that way. Some writers just overdo it on the looney thing with Michael. That, or they paint him as a complete SLUT, which I cannot stand.

Hmmm. I need to write a story soon, huh?

BTW Miss Roxy, I LOVE your background. It's hotter than a burning tree!!

oh god, yes, you guys with the SV background never make that mistake--it's the people with the SpN background who just jam Thomas or Mikey into whatever slot they need. Toomuchplor wrote some of the best RPS ever!

and yes--write a story to take the taste of those awful Mikes and Toms out of my brain! :)

It does rather amaze me how consistent several characterizations are of the CW people for no real reason that I know of... The way I've read it: Tom=boring or evil, jerky ex; Mike=crazy, bald, childish prankster, but really a harmless good guy; Jamie=not actually ever present; Chad="total douche" +/- redeeming quality of being loyal friend; Chris Kane=violent asshole which is totally made up for by being insanely loyal to friends (read Steve and Jensen).

These are even more consistent than portrayals seen in fanfic of the actual characters on the show...
