I love you guys so much. Everyday I'm here, reading you, laughing, sniveling, wishing I could help, wishing I lived right next door to you, and being thankful I don't because I'd never get a damn thing done and you'd get tired of my ass hanging around all the time anyway....

My girlfriend's flown back home, and I spent a good part of the afternoon trying not to cry. Not always successful. This woman is now one of the very few people in the world who really knows me--has known me since my days as a starry-eyed chit of a girl taking baby steps into the world attending a junior college. (cheap, and most important, practically in my back yard.) She's been there through a whole lot of personal changes, seen me act like a total asshole and still love me. You can't beat something like that, folks.

I'm falling for my own character again. It's bad, I tell you. My little California story is getting bigger and fatter and all about a side character who was just supposed to point up how different the boy handle things and here he is running off with the story. And you know what--don't give a damn because I haven't had this much fun writing for a long time!
