Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] tyffi and just about everybody, I guess....

What was the #1 song the day you were born? Search the date and then post your #1 song on your LJ - preferably with a Youtube vid if you can find one!

I was born during the 50s and on the whole, the music of the time sucked balls. This meme certainly provides fodder for the mocking. :)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 10:53 pm (UTC)(link)

Unless we're talking the Platters. I kinda like them. ;)

[identity profile] ferdalump.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
DUDE! I ♥ 50's music SO much!! And Shhhh Boom!!! HEE! I always think of the movie 'Clue' when I hear this song, or 'For Keeps.' :D I want to put on a crinoline and go to a sock hop! :D

*snugs you* I'll take 50's music over disco (when I was born) anyday! :D

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
oh gosh--I forgot about disco! Okay, 50s music tops that! ;)

[identity profile] rosy5000.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
But I like this song! And a lot of the 50s music!

I was stuck with disco! At least mine was one of the better disco singers/songs. lol

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Aaaaaah, disco was really the devil! Lots of folks seem to like the 50s music...maybe it's me?

[identity profile] tasabian.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
"Sh-Boom" will always be cool because it was in the hilarious "Clue!"

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2010-02-04 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)

OMG!!!!! Kung Fu fighting? *snorflesnorfle* I knew a guy who thought that song was oh so deep--he'd listen to it over and over and even sniffle a little, so moved by its beauty---*SNORT*

[identity profile] twinsarein.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 05:13 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, I have to go with everyone else on this - I love that song and I love 50's music. You shouldn't be surprised that your flist does, though. We love you after all, and you're from the 50's.

*pees self laughing*

OMG, it's like music never gets any better!!

[identity profile] emeraldsedai.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the Crew Cuts might not have been the greatest thing ever, but generally speaking, that kind of doo-wop-y swing was awesome.

The fifties were very transitional. The year I was born you could have Tennessee Ernie Ford singing "Sixteen Tons" or you could have Bill Haley and the Comets singing "Rock Around the Clock."

Guess which one I picked.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2010-02-05 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
omg, between Sixteen Tons and Rock Around The Clock, I'm rocking around the clock!
