I used to smoke a hundred pounds ago....

A friend posted some pics of us at a very, very, *very* young age. Aah, the good old days when I could smoke without a care in the world. I miss you, Tobacco! You were my best friend. *sniff* My such nicely plucked eyebrows, too! So not like the werecaterpillars I have nesting on my forehead now.

Aw, BB! I used to smoke too! I remember it unfondly. I even think about it these days and I start to cough. I can picture the saggy skin and feel the emphyshema.

Really? Oh man, I *loved* smoking, so much! I miss everything about it. But the Fam won out over the cigarettes. I don't regret quitting one little bit, and god forbid I'd never start again, but there are days...

[identity profile] jesseofthenorth.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
Yes you do have lovely eyebrows in this pic no doubt. As a fellow sufferer I will tell you that i go get mine ripped out every 6 weeks so they dont take ovee the top half of my face }:D

[identity profile] jesseofthenorth.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Also I miss cigarettes like hell some days! I even dream about them sometimes. Literally. Dream. That being said ? I am really glad they are gone from my life. Even though there are days more than 2 years later were i still miss the hell out of smoking.

Girl, ME TOO!!!

I am *really* glad I don't smoke anymore, but I really miss them. I post about my lost love every few months, when the craving pops up out of nowhere, even more than ten years later. I'm also proud of myself still for not beating random strangers up and stealing their smokes--those first few weeks were rough! :)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
LOL! It's awful! and now I have white hairs coming in, so the caterpillars just look...odd. Someday, I'm going to schlep to a salon and have them dye and pluck those suckers to a fare-thee-well. And then no one will recognize me...hmmm. Maybe not such a bad idea! *G*

[identity profile] jesseofthenorth.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Okay none of mine are white but holy crap do they ever get long!
Also?
Hot wax baby! 6 weeks of bliss!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
but...but...it's wax! And it *hot*! and it's on your *face*!

[identity profile] jesseofthenorth.livejournal.com 2011-06-24 04:49 am (UTC)(link)
ok, point. ;)

Couldn't tell you nothing! Look at that Foxy Lady. However, you're still Foxy, Roxy.

And did you really caption that? At the time about the No Smoking sign? That's hysterical.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
LOL!! No, my friend did that! We were a most amusing bunch--*koff*

Thanks for that foxy, though these days I'm feeling a little more Boxy than Foxy. :)

i have werecaterpillars too. my sister told me a few years ago that no one will ever want to date me because my eyebrows are too intimidating. ha.

you have such elegant hands!

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 02:16 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you! I did used to have elegant hands, they're now a little more wrinkly paws than elegant hands but they can lift a full mug of coffee and that's all I need! ;)

Your sister is...interesting, lol! Though my beloved child pointed out to me that my brother and I don't really have separate eyebrows. Yes, we have the dreaded unibrow. *GGG*

What a darling pic of you, darling. I actually still smoke. I know, I know, it's terrible and I'm going to die gruesomely and in the meantime everyone will look down their noses at me, but what can I say? I love it. I planned to quit smoking when I turned 30, but then I got laid off on my 30th b-day so I told the universe to go F itself and kept on keeping on. I'll get around to it eventually.

My biggest fear is that I will quit smoking and gain a crapload of weight, which is what happened the last time I quit. I honestly don't think my midgety little legs could carry anymore weight without buckling. :sigh:

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
People look down their noses at smokers like it's okay to be flaming dicks to strangers. Once when I was standing outside my store smoking, some little kid walked past me and starting this exaggerated coughing, really loud and rude and the parents looked at me like, "See, my kid's smarter than you are." So I said, "Hey, little kid, you think that's funny?" scary as I could, while staring the parents down.Scared the crap out of all of them. So, the moral of this story is, if you're a freakin' wimp who can actually be scared by a 5'4" portly woman, don't let your kid run around acting like a jerk. At least, I think that's the moral. I don't know. Have a cigarette for me. ;)

I didn't quit until my forties, it's been about 12 years. You'll quit when you feel it. I know, no one else can make you quit, it's gotta come from inside.

[identity profile] orbiting-saturn.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, that sounds similar to what happened to me and one of my friends. We were outside the movies smoking and a couple of fourteen year olds with their mom pulled the same exact thing, BUT they added in that really clever comment that goes along with it; "This is our air too!" So, I very sweetly smiled at the mom and told her she shouldn't let her kids be assholes to complete strangers and that just because we are tiny white women that doesn't mean we aren't psychopaths who will pull out blades and cut her smartass kids. Then my friend started rummaging through her purse and said, "I don't have a blade, but I think I have some pepper spray in here somewhere." They couldn't get out of there fast enough.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAHAA!!! Good for you!!! People totally don't get that crazy comes in all sizes. *GRIN* Now I want to hang out with you guys. :)

Hiya sweets!

I've been MIA for weeks and I come back to a hot looking babe in my Friends box! wowee-kazowee (as my dear nephew says). And funny as all get out to go with it!

Howzitt going over there on the right coast? I see NY city manned up and did right by themselves, now if we could just more places (San Francisco, I'm talking to you!) to take their blinders off and let other folks live their lives. Whoops-sorry 'bout the soapbox, this was supposed to be about you and your hottness!!!

I have a good friend that is a sponsor in Nicotine Anonymous (she's clean for 18 yrs) and she raves about it. Guess it was the right thing at the right time for her 'cause if you don't wanna quit, ain't nothing in the world going work. When I smoked 35 years ago (OMG!), it was mostly to blow smoke rings ... was pretty cool the way I could make them down draft on top of a bottleneck. Aahhh, the good old days.

Ok, guess I've rambled enough at you this morning. Hope you are having a lovely Roxy day. And don't worry about the unibrow thing - I hear it's the new orange.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL!! Well, thank you very much! :)

I was so pleased that NY finally came to it's senses--I hope eventually NJ will follow. I think marriage equality trumps my hotness. ;)

Man, I could never get the hang of smoke rings! *be all envious* I'd just make a face like a guppy and produce smoke blobs.

It's good to hear from you, I love rambly comments! *GGG*
