advice please!

I know, I know--I'm always asking--but it really does help me figure out what to do! It helped me decide to post my BigBang in my sockmuppet LJ and I'm very, very pleased with how that worked--so much so that I think I'll stick with it in the future.

So, here's the thing--when they imported all those SSA stories into AO3 (good thing all around as far as I'm concerned) I had quite a few stories imported also. The thing is, some of those stories are ugly as sin, and they're also not accessible to folks without accounts plus I'd kind of not like to trumpet the little monstrosities all over even though I think they should remain in all their ugly glory. The question I have is this, would it be weird or goofy or unnecessary to repost those stories? I don't plan to do any major editing for writing--that was me then. Plus, I haven't really changed all that much, mostly just a rein on the its/it's and stuff like that. I'm as much the ellipses queen now as I was then. I just want to make them less ugly. :)

There are a few fics that I like, but I think need a little work. Plus I'm thinking hard about locking the fics on LJ and redirecting folks to the archive. It's just easier all around--no one needs to friend the lj and you can get alerts on new fic posting from AO3.

And then there's this: on LJ, I got 11 comments for my SVBB last year. I just checked the hit count on the archive--I got 1324 hits on the story. Granted that is a freakishly high hit count for me and none of my other stories are even a wee bit close to that but still...it feels pretty good. Even the super low counts are still higher than comments on LJ. And yes, attention hoor that I am, it makes me feel valued! :)

I know what you mean about the hits--I popped into one story after commenting last night to see if I had unlocked it, and it had 67 hits. Livejournal is wigging out on my right now so I can't tell you how many comments the same story got there, but it was only like 11, and I think a couple were from spam. It's a nice feeling, that someone somewhere is clicking, even if there aren't comments.

The other page finally loaded--7 actual commenters, one of which was a sock puppet and most of the others I didn't know. Granted that was my longish, dark, non-con story, so I wasn't expecting a lot of comments!
