December Meme: [livejournal.com profile] chellexxx asked

Multiple answers today because I was a bad roxy. :)

December 11 - What do you do for your loved ones, just 'cause they ask?

I thought about this one and wrote a whole lot of words and edited and edited and what it all boiled down to was this: anything. If it's something that can be done, I'd do it. Because I love them and because they'd do the same for me without a thought.

[livejournal.com profile] macaronielbow asked: December 12 - When did you first read smut and what was it?

Oh gaaaaaaaawwwd—so embarrassed! I was 13, and read The Story of O, and had no real idea what I was reading besides that it was naughty. It was incredibly naughty to wee me, and possibly damaging as well, lol! I've never reread it , barely remember it, and would probably yawn through it these days but there you have it. Wee roxy was a *nosy* little thing, and nothing was safe from my prying eyes hahaaa!!

[livejournal.com profile] firesign10 asks: Dec. 13 - What superstitions, if any, do you subscribe to or follow?

I can't say I have any serious superstitions. I feel nervous about walking under a ladder but I do it anyway, same thing with opening an umbrella in the house. Most superstitions make me laugh because they seem so farfetched but there's a teeny little corner of my mind that says, "yeah, but...what if…?"

My first smut was Sidney Sheldon, when I was around 11. Of course, I was also reading Helter Skelter at the time, so it was a toss up which book was more inappropriate for my age.

Hokey SMOKES!!! Helter Skelter at 11? You were a precocious child, lol!!!

I really was. I pretty much taught myself to read when I was 3 or 4, and I just kept going. My dad told me once that he had to read Peyton Place under the covers, with a flashlight, so his mother wouldn't see. I was lucky, my parents never really restricted my reading, although I imagine they wouldn't have been too happy if I'd been reading actual porn or something.

Same here. I started reading at an early age too, and my parents didn't really restrict what I read either...but they would have flipped their wigs if they knew I found the naughty book--hah! ;)

Heeeeee! Oh, man. I think the first 'smut' i read was 'Flowers in the Attic' - not very smutty! And also 'Princess Daisy' - my fist f/f scene!! (I was disappointed there was no m/m scene.)

And Gor. My brother had Gor books. BWA.

Um - i was 12/13/14.

LOL!!! My beloved brought Gor books to the marriage. We both read them until one day we were like, "Wow, this is purest shit--what the heck are we reading?"

I was always disappointed there were no M/M scenes in stuff, even though it was *clearly* there! Like Captain Kirk and Spock, for crying out loud! And Salem's Lot...*koff* Don't ask....

*dies laughing*

Oh, man. Gor. So incredibly stupid.

I have read *so much* horrible, angst, 'dies in the end' novels *just* so i could get some passing smidge of m/m...*anything*.

The fucking internet saved me! So much slash, everywhere. Whooooooo!!

the first smut I read

Well now probably Harold Robbins if he qualifies! I loved all his novels & I still like Memories of Another Day although its been years since I read it. If he doesn't count maybe Lady Chatterleys Lover or Letters to Penthouse. My first visual smut was a book of yes holy smokes ! My parents A History of Erotic Art . Actually there were some really nice prints in there of Japenese Woodcuts and a few of the pics were very funny!

Letters to Penthouse! LOL! Those were kind of wild back then--I thought they were terribly, terribly naughty. Little did I know what was lurking in the future. *GGG*

You know...I think I totally blocked that I found naughty books in my parents' house. Because that would mean that they read them and that would mean that I'd have to bleach my brain....
