roxy: (calvin hobbs squick!)
Because I haven't posted anything of substance yet--I'm trying, I really am!--I decided to post this which was from last year's December meme! I never got around to dropping it here, because I'm a procrastinator like that. ;D

so, this was in answer to a question [livejournal.com profile] tabaqui asked: Wax poetic about the many, many ways that fandom has stretched our kink vocabulary. And tastes.
*cough*

my answer: Ah, fanfic! Ah, kink memes! You've opened my eyes in a frightening way! Back in the day, I drew the line at RPF, at underage, at watersports, rimming was scary—there were so many, many things I swore I'd avoid at all cost, speaks the person who has written a ton of underage S/D. I haunt AO3 for new J2, I giggle at watersports fic. Rimming? Old hat, my dear, old hat! (though for gods sake, there needs to be more showers involved in rimming fic. also, no m/m fucking and finishing things off with a blowjob. that kind of breaks the willing suspension of disbelief thing i have going on).

Poetic you want? Oh Ponyboy, how you stole my wizened little heart! How you turned my disgust into intrigue, my sharp, startled inhale of repulsed fascination into short, thin breaths of exhilaration…ya'll know I have a thing for this particular fetish. It confuses and entertains me, fascinates and horrifies me at once.

Fanfic has ruined me. I find I have to often take a moment and weigh the situation…Reality, porn…reality…porn….

So there you have it, last year's answer to that question. Nothing has changed overmuch. I've read a few bestiality fics because I have clickitis ("shooo, cain't nothin' freak me ou--YIKES!!") and I have this thing about somehow never reading all the tags. This happened recently, started a story and boy, was I ever confused. I just didn't get what the fic was about. I was reading and thinking, "Well, if he keeps doing that, seems to me he's in danger of OH MY GOD. Well...I...well...hunh. How did I really not get that this story was headed there?"

I wish like crazy I could remember the story or the writer or anything about it so I could share with you but there's just a slightly traumatized blank space in my head. I have the feeling none of ya'll would have been quite as clueless as me going in. How in the hell can you miss bestiality, for god's sake? It wasn't even the first one I've ever read, for cryin'outloud--there was a very sympathetic wolf/Jensen story at the kink meme a few years ago that I liked very much, so it's not like I have no experience...just. tsk.

Still, it was entertaining--I mean, I cracked myself up. I had to laugh at my own horror, it was just so...kinda roxy, I guess. :D :D :D

and that's my over-share for this week. ♥

[livejournal.com profile] day221b asks: Dec 18: What first drew you to Smallville, and what was the turning point to make you want to write in the fandom? :D

What drew me to SV? Well, I was reading BtVS mainly, and reading in other fandoms sporadically—BDS, SN, Faculty—and came across some amazing dub-con, angsty RedK stories, searched out other stories and found a place in the Fandom of Pain. I loved it so much I had to try and my first few stories were very short and absolute shit, and then I wrote a longer story, also shit. And then, I threw off the traces and wrote whatever I damn well felt like writing about Clark and Lex and it got better. :D
Those boys—they were fun to write and SV peeps were wonderfully patient and kind. Best fandom ever to newbies, thank you so much, guys! ♥

[livejournal.com profile] rosy5000 asks: Dec 21 - How did you get hooked on Clark/Lex/Whitney? *G*

I don't know! It just happened! I loved Clark and Whit together but I didn't want Lex to be left out—Clark/Lex is my otp! And suddenly there it was—the dreaded threesome! Which, wow—is really hard to write! So many…hands. ;)

Anonymous asks: Questions: What got you interested in writing fanfic? What is your favorite Smallville story and why?

I always wanted to write—always. So of course, I learned to draw instead because I was sure I couldn't write--not enough words to tell the stories I wanted to, anyway. A bazillion years later, I found the BtVS fandom, and read all the stories. Which led to wanting to *write* the stories and with the encouragement of [livejournal.com profile] tabaqui, my first and dearest friend here on LJ, I tried my hand at it, with varying degrees of success. Good or not, I enjoy writing the stories. No matter how I bitch and complain and cry, they're all my babies.

My fav SV story? There are so many, and I read bazillions and forgot most of them but Shmoop by Caroline Baker (Clark/Whit), which I cannot find for love nor money, and Things I Cannot Change by [livejournal.com profile] emeraldsedai, (Firefly/SV x-over) a story that turned my brains inside out, remain my favorites. I've read a lot of stories and loved the hell out of them but these two stick in my swiss cheese memory.

My favorite story I wrote? Firebird and the Gray Wolf, because I loved it, hated it, loved it, hated it and finally decided that I loved it. For many different reasons. ;)

more meme coming! someday soonish. ;)

December 17th- Where is the most interesting place you've ever been?

This isn't exciting, but Salzburg is the most interesting place I've ever been. Because it was my mom's home town and it was interesting to see the place she grew up in, to see places that she told us about.

December 14: what is Tom Welling's prettiest hair look?

Multiple answers today because I was a bad roxy. :)

December 11 - What do you do for your loved ones, just 'cause they ask?

I thought about this one and wrote a whole lot of words and edited and edited and what it all boiled down to was this: anything. If it's something that can be done, I'd do it. Because I love them and because they'd do the same for me without a thought.

[livejournal.com profile] macaronielbow asked: December 12 - When did you first read smut and what was it?

Oh gaaaaaaaawwwd—so embarrassed! I was 13, and read The Story of O, and had no real idea what I was reading besides that it was naughty. It was incredibly naughty to wee me, and possibly damaging as well, lol! I've never reread it , barely remember it, and would probably yawn through it these days but there you have it. Wee roxy was a *nosy* little thing, and nothing was safe from my prying eyes hahaaa!!

[livejournal.com profile] firesign10 asks: Dec. 13 - What superstitions, if any, do you subscribe to or follow?

I can't say I have any serious superstitions. I feel nervous about walking under a ladder but I do it anyway, same thing with opening an umbrella in the house. Most superstitions make me laugh because they seem so farfetched but there's a teeny little corner of my mind that says, "yeah, but...what if…?"

December 8th. Tell me about an something that changed your life.

I'm so boring, but it's all about Mr R, *again*.

Meeting my husband-to-be changed my life completely. It sent it off in a direction I never thought I'd experience. I never wanted to be married and *really* never wanted children and then I met this goofy-looking kid who totally fucked up my world. I wanted to be married to him and was willing to kinda sorta consider the idea of kid. Singular.

He made my life better in a lot of ways and I came to understand that love wasn’t the sucking pit of despair I'd been led to believe it was. I tried my best to make it that, but he wasn't having it. Thank god it was Mr. R—anyone else would probably have made my nightmares come true. :)

Dec. 7 - What's your favorite memory of you and Mr. R?

My favorite memory? Wow, that's a hard one. It's been a long time and a lot of stuff happens…*g*
There is this memory that explains all about us, I think.

Many years ago, we were remodeling the kitchen and it was *hot*, hot as hell. We were laying out linoleum, one huuuuuge roll of it, and sweating, omg—so we stripped down to our undies, and pushed the roll out on our hands and knees. At one point we stopped, looked at each other and just bust out laughing like loons. It should have been miserable, everyone predicted that we'd be at each others throats because that was the norm for remodels. And, yeah, we kept having problems with the damn remodel, it was hot and humid and we had no AC and it was *hot* but...it was still fun in a twisted way. That's us. Definitely not the norm.

Or maybe just a bit twisted. *G*

December 6-which deceased character should still be alive on Supernatural?

Brady. He would have been a great enemy to Sam and a foil for Crowley. Plus there's the appeal of Eric Johnson looking pretty on my screen each week, not gonna lie. Second choice? Frank. I fell violently in love with Frank.

December 5--Favorite holiday recipe? Is there story behind it?

Probably my very favorite recipe is peanut butter kiss cookies. I like it because it looks labor intensive and is so not, and it's very American. All the cookies I grew up with were European-style—I love them but I suck at making them. So the peanut butter cookies are a tradition in our family and for the kids, it's not Christmas unless we have them—just like it wasn't Christmas until I'd snuck the first vanillekipferl off the tray.

December 3- Talk about your favorite Smallville moments. :)

Gosh, it's been so long…I'd have to say that one scene in the ep where Lionel steals Clark's body, because both of them acted the *hell* out that ep. Plus in the prison riot scene, Clark in the background walking past the cell and looking like a predator…yum! Oh, and Clark from the alternate world, and any ep where Clark is evil—hah! So hot!

Okay. I thought it would be a word or two but there were actually so many scenes and eps I loved. I loved any ep that they got to stretch their acting wings. Lex as Zod, Lex as the president in an oval office light with the light of nuclear bombs going off…ach, that bit where the old lady has visions of Lex's future and him standing in a field of dying sunflowers. The problem with SV was that most of the fabulous bits were images and whatever good the actors could wring out of the scripts—the story lines, eh, not so much. Especially that whole arc with that godawful Jason Teague…ech. ;)

December 2. I've always loved your sense of humor. Which of your own stories made you laugh the most as you wrote it?

Thank you so much! I do love making people laugh! As for which story, it has to be of A Young Kryptonian's Travels. There have been stories that made me snort here and there as I wrote, but AYKT I wrote with the express purpose of making myself laugh and I had the best time writing it. If it was goofy, I threw it in, lol! I think it's the silliest thing I've ever written and I'm very fond of it. :)

[livejournal.com profile] danceswithgary was kind enough to make me this lovely art! It really captures the spirit of the story! She has a way of doing that....

In a bid to be more entertaining, I'm jumping in this too! Pick a date in December. Pick a topic. On the date you choose I will post something about that topic. It can be fandom-related or it can branch into hobbies, books, places, objects, pets, beverages, whatever you want. Ask me anything, I got no filters. If you want to request more than one topic, pick a different day for each.

grabbed from [livejournal.com profile] firesign10, and embellished by me. ;)
