This is so TIMELY because I just took one of my friends to her first, regular colonoscopy. SHE WAS MOST DISGRUNTLED BY IT. Poor lady was so nauseous and woozy and sore. I am NOT looking forward to the day I have to get mine. No, ma'am.

Oh man, the first one wasn't so bad but this one!! It was horrible! I don't even want to tell folks how bad 'cause I don't want to scare anyone off! Don't be scared!

In my case, I think the anesthesia knocked me so off center it took a while to pull myself together.

Considering I am extremely hard to sedate and actually woke up in the middle of my last colonoscopy (they didn't believe me when I told them I was hard to sedate), I would definitely have woozily walked my way out of the hospital if that was suggested.

I am feeling *MUCH* better! And not to worry--it was totally *not* the colonoscopy that hurt! I was sore from laying in one spot for too long, freaked out by the anesthesia, and loopy for a bit too long afterwards. The actual procedure was not painful at all. And the prep wasn't even bad! It was two doses of this stuff that granted, tastes like EWWW but you only had to down 5oz of it--very much an improvement--make sure you ask your doc about the prep!

Man, this stuff just shouldn't happen. I can't speak for an endoscopy but my husband and I have had a few colonoscopies between us now and it's literally been a case of being wheeled in, get the injection and a moment later realizing we're in a different room and it's all over. Wouldn't even know it had happened. If that's not the experience you folks are getting you need to change doctors (or countries).

And it was exactly that the last time I had a colonoscopy! Now that I'm braining better than I was yesterday, I'm thinking it was mostly a reaction to the anesthetic. It was terrifying! I'd never had an experience like it before--I don't think. It was bad enough to make me nervous all day. The other stuff was uncomfortable but it was just dry mouth from the meds and pain from laying in one place on my bum shoulder I didn't mention before they knocked me out. Because I'm smart like that.

I think I scared everyone because I woke crying. At least there was a lot of bustling around and roxy-patting. They said I cried going out too, but I don't remember that, only the fear. Bummer, because I really liked being knocked out before. :(
