I mean, the lead boy is cute. Super cute. But I laughed as soon as the girlfriend appeared because of COURSE she's going to die. And the five monster family concept is so silly.

Sam & Dean made no sense in the episode. Goodbye Chicago, full of monsters. We're just going to let you be. JA & JP looked embarrassed by some of the dialogue and that's something considering how SPN writing can be.

I'm with you. That was a wasted hour. Not as bad as "Bitten," but still, I won't watch the episode again, and if the pilot makes it to weekly series, I won't bother. It did sort of remind me of a multi-monster version of Kindred:The Embraced (that series was awesome, by the way) but I don't have enough interest in the characters to bother watching more.

Now I'm one of the crowd that *adored* Bitten, and I hoped that this ep might be as interesting but ack, it so was not!

If they'd taken the time to write this pilot as interestingly and hired actors the caliber of the Kindred cast than man, it would have been a *great* episode! That's what they need to do--go find Kindred, watch it and take copious notes. That was a *great* show, yes!

And what we got of Sam and Dean was really, really WTF?

I haven't seen it yet but it sounds like a shit storm, but your gifs are wonderful! Omg, Kindred the Embraced, that was so fantastic, i really loved it back then. When i had heard that Mark Frankel had died in a motorcycle accident i was really upset back then. To bad Bloodlines isn't Kindred.

I rewatched it and my opinion hasn't changed that much. I liked the SamnDean parts better, thought the kid was cuter, but not much more than that. They're going to have to work hard to make this one stick.

I mean - c'mon! Make an actual Show ep with a touch more 'other characters' story wherein at the end the five families is a omg!reveal!!! and the boys have to go, but Ennis (not so hysterical) is there to attempt to deal with it all. Fade black, there we go.

Instead, we got the cheesecake factory of a cast (white and bland), and cliche after cliche, and 'i'm a bitch, I don't matter'....... What the ever-loving fuck.

Sorry, boys, you did your best with your uber-limited time and presence but.... Wow, no.

I am usually pretty laid back about bad eps, comes with the territory right and it's all good if we get a couple good brother moments. But that thing had zero pay off. Blech!

Frankly I'd be relieved. SPN already lost a lot of its talent pool when Eric left, and this show had the potential to spread it even thinner. Better that they do one show half well than two shows twice as badly.
