Stolen from everyone!

because I'm blabby today! I don't talk for weeks and then it's all me, all the time! :D

Name six movies you can watch any time without ever getting sick of them.
warning! I have godawful taste in movies!

Long Kiss Goodnight
Grandma's Boy
Planes Trains and Automobiles
Despicable Me
Predator
and for god's sake don't judge me (as if you aren't already) I know full well it's a steaming pile of soap opera but Idris!
Daddy's Little Girls
This is a secret I'm sharing with you, my guilty pleasure. :D

I like bad movies and sophomoric humor. I'm just a big, old, wrinkly thirteen year old. I good with it!

Long Kiss Goodnight is the greatest film in the history of ever.

LKG is a fabulous film, but I kind of ration my watching, lest it lose its special luster. Lord, the quotes!

It is great, especially so at Christmas time. It was really weird that one year when Mr R and I realized it was one of our Christmas flims.

"Planes, Trains and Automobiles" is the height of both John Candy and Steve Martin's genius.

I agree! John Candy--I *still* miss him.

Hmm, I don't think I've seen any of these. XD

Please see Long Kiss Goodnight - it's Gena Davis's film (she produced, and possibly wrote it? Very involved, anyway, a real feminist masterpiece of action and over the top fun), and she's the tough one, the angsty one, the smart one, the hero, the star, and perfection incarnate, and Samuel L. Jackson plays the sexy totty! (This film marked the beginning of my obsessive love affair with SLJ.

I so agree with iibnf!! And except for Planes Trains and Automobiles, you ain't missing much by not seeing the rest of my films, lol!!

[identity profile] rosy5000.livejournal.com 2015-12-09 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Ok... I'll admit, I've only seen Despicable Me & Planes Trains & Automobiles out of that list. And it's been a loooooong time since I've seen PT&A. LOVE LOVE LOVE Despicable Me though. :D

I may have to do this just so I have something posted on LJ for the last few months. LOL

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-12-09 01:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes! Do this!

Despicable Me made me a minion fanatic. It's totally unhealthy the way I love those little guys. Like, maybe more than Jensen. Maybe more than Michael....

I've seen three of these. I'll never watch PT&A again, i've re-watched DM a couple times, and Predator...maybe. Hehe.

How can we be such buddies and have such different tastes? I'm gonna tell you my movies, so you can see....

Jaws
Alien
Moonstruck
Bend It Like Beckham
Fifth Element and....the pièce de résistance....

AUNTIE MAME. :)

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2015-12-09 01:31 pm (UTC)(link)
But these are all so good--except Moonstruck. You lost me there. Fifth Element I'll watch again, yes, and Bend It Like Beckham is one of Mr R's all time favs.

Alien traumatized me so much that I won't watch it even now, all these years later!! But I might watch it with you if you shnoozle me up in warm blankies and hot coffee and hold my hand all the way through it. ;D

And DUH!! Auntie Mame!! *slaps head* That too! :D :D :D

Yes!! Everything about Mame just makes me smile.

Heeeeee!
I love Moonstruck. I love the story about Cosmo and the big moon, and Cher and Nic Cage's character arguing about a 'wolf with no foot!' 'A bride without a head!'

It's all so silly and so heartfelt. :)

BilB is so awesome.

I saw Alien when it came out. My dad, my sis and me. It was *terrifying*. And then my dad traumatized us further going home that night - we stopped at the end of our (very long) driveway out in the woods so my sis could get the paper and he leans out the car door going 'watch out for the alien!!' He thought he was so funny.

But of *course* we can watch with a blankie and a hot drink. :)
*smooch*
