The Shallow Take on SV, natch....

Okay, Lana--there's a thin line between love and hate. Ya'll should settle this like normal folks--you, Clark and Lex in a sex sandwich. (It'll work I tell ya!) Boy, she really turned into a lying bitch heifer. Wow. I'm kind of impressed against my will.

Good interaction between Lex and Clark--Lex is playing it so cool that no matter what Clark says, he comes across as crazycakes. If you didn't know Lex and what he's done, you'd think he was being stalked by a crazy ex-boyfriend. And on the shallow side, they both looked incredible tonight. Lex, Lex...loved every second of you on the screen.

Here's the scary thing--I think I really like Jimmy Olsen. *slaps self* He's turning out to be the most decent person on the show. Chloe is too full of self pity--she's just too much the angst hoor, and I always thought she was a lot tougher than what they've got her doing here. I want her to have more backbone when it comes to herself. She's plucky girl reporter in any other circumstance until it applies to herself. Grrr.

Kara...okay. Wow. I kind of liked her prejudice. Sounds weird, I know, but it makes Kryptonians more real--and more frightening. Aren't we happy that Jonathan found Clark, and not Lionel? Don't you feel bad about all the bad things you said about Bo?

Thomas, Thomas, you've grown, you really have grown. That look when Knox was weeping bitter tears over the body of his beloved, oh my. You could see Clark feeling that loss over and over right down to his toes. It's one thing to know you're going to lose everyone you've ever loved--it's another thing to feel it in your bones. What a horrible prospect. That's why I find stories in which Clark slowly loses his mind as the centuries pass so believable.

So, me, I liked the ep lots. It was fun, I loved Dr. Knox, and his story. Dean Cain, my word. That man could still play Superman. Handsome as ever.

that's teh shallow report--now let's see what ya'll thought!

SO SORRY!!!

What are you so sorry for? *scratches head*

Oh, I forgot to cut--nothing tragic! :)

I loved the eppy. My thoughts on the clex were exactly the same. And seriously, Dean Cain is one beautiful man.

Yes, that he is! Big and beautiful!

Is it just me, or was "Doctor Knox" secretly Vandal Savage?

Lots of folks have mentioned him, but all I know about Savage comes from one episode of Justice League I saw forever ago.

Lana is just ridiculous.

I really like Jimmy because he's the only one, as far as I can remember, who hasn't been a tool at one point or another. And I like him being good for Chloe. Well, until tonight.

She's plucky girl reporter in any other circumstance until it applies to herself.

You're absolutely right. She kicks ass until it becomes personal, and then she falls apart.

I just wished they'd actually have Clark address the living for centuries thing- I'm not sure why he isn't acting more freaked out.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-10-20 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I though his response to the Knox thing was him being very freaked out.

Chloe is getting me pissed - and she was my QUEEN. And this season I'm just... less than impressed.

Oh, LEX'N'CLARK! Makin' me happy boys!

I LOVED LANA TONIGHT. The bitch coming out to play makes me VERY happy.

As for all the rest, yep. I agree.

ARRRRG! My comment disappeared--bastards!

Anyway, the gist was Lana ick, but anusing that ep and Chloe's getting screwed by the writers. It better end up making sense, somehow....

LOL!!!! AMUSING, not anusing...though in a way...*G*

I loved seeing Dean Cain on the show and the moment at the end was cool.

Yah the whole Clex thing kinda has be scratching my head.

I hope to see Dean back!

I even know who he was, sweetie! That was Vandal Savage in the flesh right there on our tv screens. The harvesting of organs was also right out of the comics whch I loved. Though, Vandal tended to do it for himself and his pick of choice was his own descendants.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-10-20 09:06 pm (UTC)(link)
I've got to look up Vandal Savage--I have no idea about him! He sounds...fascinating, lol!

[identity profile] morganichele.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
Ohhh. That was really touching, wasn't it? When Clark was watching DC cry over his girlfriend? Is it bad that I was all 'OMG. TW is so beautiful when he's sad'? *giggles* Ah well.
Hee!
And, oh yes. Lex really was incredible. *happy sigh*

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-10-20 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
He looked good--he put a lot of different emotions into that one look.

*grabs him and shakes him hard* WHY WON'T YOU BE SUPERMAN FOR ME?????

[identity profile] jakrar.livejournal.com 2007-10-19 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
Lex was fantastic, but everybody else just ticked me off. Which is not to say that I didn't enjoy the CLex scenes, but Clark was a pissy bitch to Lex for no good reason at all. Apparently, according to Clark, it's wrong if Lex studies mutants, and it's wrong if Lex locks dangerous mutants up, and it's wrong if Lex cures mutants.... What, is beating up and killing mutants -- the way Clark does -- the only good thing to do with them? Unless, of course, the mutant is Chloe, and then no rules need apply? *smacks Clark around the block* I notice Our Kryptonian Hero didn't seem inclined to apologize to Lex for accusing him of murdering Lana (not to mention nearly killing him over it), even though Lana is currently shacking up at Clark's place and doesn't look all that dead, more's the pity. And I notice Clark didn't bother to thank Lex for getting all rightful criminal charges against Lana dropped so she could come back without getting thrown in prison. The Kents didn't raise Clark with many manners, did they?

Don't you feel bad about all the bad things you said about Bo?

Not a bit. I couldn't possibly say enough bad things about Bo.

As for the J'onn vs. Kara debate...isn't it interesting that J'onn seems to have targeted Kara's entire family, even though he himself claimed that it was her father alone who tried to assassinate Jor-El? Is that supposed to be legal on Krypton -- punishing not only the criminals themselves, but their entire families as well? I'm liking J'onn less and less all the time....

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2007-10-20 09:12 pm (UTC)(link)
J'onn J'onz--it's as if they have no real idea who he is. This weird 'family retainer' thing they have going on with him puzzles me. I like MM but I'm not sure I like him here on SV. I'm not too sure it's a good idea. I'm not as bothered by Kara being there because it affords them the opportunity to grow Clark up.

I've decided that Clark's odd behavior towards Lex is going to be chalked up to the 'bitter old ex's' kind of thing. The way Thomas plays their relationship is so that, it makes me laugh. When I'm not grinding my teeth.

[identity profile] latxcvi.livejournal.com 2007-10-20 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, Lana--there's a thin line between love and hate.

I think what most took me aback was that they gave us a shot of her looking at him looking at his computer -- and then she very deliberately and specifically trained the camera on his face again. Like, wouldn't she be watching what he pulls up on the computer screen if she's really just about getting incriminating information on him? It was really interesting, especially given the song choice.

And yeah, she lied right to Clark's face. Divorce settlement, my ass.

Good interaction between Lex and Clark--Lex is playing it so cool that no matter what Clark says, he comes across as crazycakes.

I love Clark, but I actually wanted to pop him one when he was all, "It makes me sick that I had to take a life to save yours," 'cause dude, DUDE. Lex didn't make him throw Knox 30 feet into an electrical fuse box. Clark's the one who can't come up with another way to disarm people. That's on his head, not Lex's.

Yeah, he played that perfectly.

Yes, if I'd been standing next to him, I would have been all bitch-what? and stomped on his foot. Tell me, do you think they're purposely playing this as a romance gone horribly horribly wrong, or are the people I hang out with just crazy? *koff-- having had to mediate break-ups like this too damn often*
