bitter musing

Dear Diary,

Why can't folks wait until they finish WIPs before they cut loose a fandom they fall out of love with? *SIIIIIIIIGH*

broken-hearted,
Roxy.

Oh, Roxy.

But would fic that's not written with love be worth reading?

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
No, no, you're right--I just wish the timing would benefit me, and they finish the work first--then lose the love. *smallselfish smile*

At least some of those writers are going to a fandom I can be happy with. More than happy with!

*hangs head* I'm guilty of this. I'm sorry. :(

It's hard when you have a very deep involved storyline, and the show goes off like a rabid dog, foaming at the brain. I can understand that it's difficult to go forward like that. But I have hope....*g*

HUGS!!! please don't feel bad, love--I didn't mean to make anyone feel bad.

I don't feel too bad, because I fully intend to go back to COTW one day (among other things). Really. I'm just... distracted right now. That's all.

But, I do want to make everyone happy, so... I'm still sorry it's taking so long.

See? Right there you made it all better!!

Your icon--is that Captain Jack and Ianto? Because I can see that would be distracting...

I'd almost prefer that writers don't post their WIPs until they've finished them (By finished I mean written, though not necessary edited. I just want to know that all the content is there). That way, should they chose not to finish, I won't have been sucked in and left wanting more. What can I say? I'm selfish, too.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
errr--I know, I know! I always swear that I'm going to finish the story first before posting but they always get so much longer than I thought they were going to be. :)

Amen. I wasn't going to post CFMWH, at all. I didn't think anyone would read it, or if they did they wouldn't like it. But I just wanted to see it up on my lj, and know that at least I'd tried to give the heartbroken SV fans a good storyline, with a cool sweet Lex, and a tortured gut-wrenching real Clark. *shrugs* C'est la vie.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 06:40 am (UTC)(link)
Wow--did you really think no one would read it? It's a good story, with an interesting premise--a fresh premise--and it's very well written. I'm glad folks are finding it.

[identity profile] rednihilist.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
did you really think no one would read it?

It's all because of you that anyone is reading. Without your high opinion of it, and your wonderful recommendation. . .

It means so much to me that you're enjoying it! And you know, I put last chapter's kiss in there just for you. *wink*

*hugs Roxy tight*

That's why I'm very picky about who I read WIPs by any more.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 05:52 am (UTC)(link)
There have been folks who've been distracted by how pretty our boys are, but wander away too soon. I don't know, folks come and go so fast and I'm still here--maybe I'm outstaying my welcome? *g*

[identity profile] rosy5000.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 06:02 am (UTC)(link)
*holds on super tight* NOOOOO!!!! You must stay!!! *holds onto Roxy's ankles*

I think it's the way the show has turned out. But that's exactly why I turn to fanfic. I want to read how the boys should be not how the retards are writing them.

Exactly! My favorite stories cut off at the latest after season three. . . maaaaaybe four (but only 'cause of Ackles' J. Teague. . . mmmmm, Jensen Ackles). I love reading how it SHOULD have been. Plus, we know the show isn't going to give us the slashy CLex, and it always ends badly between Clark and Lex. I like my boys happy, not horribly implausible (or a total douche, like they both are now).

Permanently unfinished WIPs make me very sad, that's why I work so hard (one exception which I promise to return to) to finish mine.

That said, lately I've been devouring McShep and have ordered SGA DVDs from Netflix. I really don't see myself writing them anytime soon, though because although I like reading about them, it's only certain dynamics between them I enjoy and I don't think I could write it.

So I read them and keep writing CLex. :-D

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Gaaaaaa, SGA. I've pretty much fallen heavily out of like with the TV show, and hate that the fandom sucks so many in. And I'm completely aware that it's a totaly unreasonable way to feel--it's so bad that I feel guilty for feeling this way! *hangs head* Maybe some people feel the same when I rave about SpN. :)

[identity profile] frelling-tralk.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 02:29 pm (UTC)(link)
It made me so sad when my favourite SV author (I won't say who it was lol) seemed to keep on starting new stories all of the time, without finishing anything.

At least her stories written during seasons 1 and 2 of SV seemed to generally be complete, but after that it was a just a case of starting new fics all the time. It's hard when they end on cliffhangers that just kill you :/

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 04:01 pm (UTC)(link)
you know, that's pretty much why I hate SGA with a passion. Though if "they'd" all gone on to SpN, I'd be perfectly fine with it. :)

[identity profile] nataliadarimini.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I did that once. *hangs head in terrible, terrible shame*

In my own defence, it was almost like I was doing people a favor, it was that bad.

[identity profile] roxymissrose.livejournal.com 2008-02-02 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
*eyeballs you*

I doubt that very much!

good thing, i dont mind, that some wips will never be finished, or i had to shun and defriend at least half of my flist :D
i will just simply continue the story in my mind as i see fit *g*
lots and lots and miles of clex porny images, lol!
