warnings
I happened to be thinking about this subject lately, so I was very surprised to see it's being knocked around. I'm thinking that yes, it's a good thing to warn people, and now that I see how it's possible to do so without spoiling your story or whatnot, I will. Most of my personal posts aren't really all that personal and if it is something extremely personal, I stuff it behind a cut, I also have filters, but doing that to a *story* (unless it's in tryouts--i do that sometimes) kind of defeats the purpose of posting it, right? So, remind me to do the warning thing from now on. You know I'm going to forget about a bazillion times before it becomes habit. Also, please don't rush to tell me why it's not a good idea, and how you'll never do it, because I don't care.

Hehe.
But, to be fair, i don't really write about anything that seems to be the top ten of triggery stuff, like sexual assault and torture and child abuse and such.....

True, true, you really don't--but I do from time to time, and you know I'm not really good at separating 'tsk-tsk' from 'holy shit, wtf!!" If it makes folks feel comfortable, than it's not really a big deal. I'm pretty sure most folks on my friends list know what they're getting here anyway. ;)

'inviso' code:(span style="color:black; background:black;" title="highlight to read warnings" ) insert text (/span) - change ( ) to < >
Doesn't show up until you highlight it! :)

Yeah, you have hit some dark spots in a few stories. 'Dog' was one that i could not and did not read, and i can see it being an 'issue' for others, as well.
And the Russian one - my memory for names sucks hard - that was pretty gruely from time to time.....
I *have* been told by a couple of readers that the drug-taking aspect of 'Tumble, Turn, Overflow' was too much for them, and i was honestly surprised 'cause i didn't think i'd gotten all that realistic so....it was bad 'cause i felt sorry i'd upset them, but also kinda cool that i got it right.
Sometimes, being a writer means also being a bit of a jerk.

Most folks do, but every once in a while I feel kind of guilty for not warnig for stuff. I'm getting soft in my old age... ;)
Your icon--*snort*!!!

But things like OFC...really, do we NEED a warning that there's an OFC?

I miss a lot of fandom stuff too. Does summer make us nostalgic or something?

Well, yeah. *g* I'd be lying if I said that I didn't set out to get a strong reaction from The Dog, but really, I wasn't expecting it to be as grueling as it was. It wore me out writing it. The Russian one, Firebird, did have some really squicky moments, true.
Squicky--hah! Parts of that bitch were sick as shit! The good old days....

I've only been asked to warn for something once and that was a miscarrage in a Clex mpreg I wrote. I said thanks for telling me and slapped a warning on the puppy. Just makes sense to me.

I warn for shmoop, because it freaks me out when I do a completely shmoopy piece! *G*
