So, I read posts about the Avengers and how they’re the best thing since sliced bread. I've seen all the lead-up movies—Iron Man, Thor, not Captain America ever in this life—so I figured I had the background. I went in kind of ready to fall in love.

And I did—I thought Loki was perfect! I didn't much care for him in Thor, but I was also being blinded by my brief snatches of Idris Elba so, perfectly justifiable that I kind of ignored everyone else in the movie. But wow, he was shiny like a brand new penny! Kind of hot in the way I like. Plus, a wicked little smile that I really loved. What the hell is wrong with me? Hah!!

This movie had the best dialogue, no surprise. This movie killed off my FAVORITE character, again no surprise Joss you bastard. This movie had Samuel Jackson which automatically makes it good. Samuel, you will never not be hot to me. Love me some manipulative son of a bitch Nick Fury.

I had fun picking out actors I thought might be TV actors, besides the obvious of course--hey girlfriend you were pretty fucking cool! Ted *should* have kids with you.

Now, some of you know about my issues with Captain America, casting there-of. I said to myself (I like to have these important conversations with myself out loud, in front of witnesses), "Miz Rose, grow the fuck up. That Chris boy is a perfectly okay guy. It was never going to happen. Jensen was never going to be that character. " So I watched this guy, really watched him, and I have to say, I can't understand why it didn't happen. The only difference in those two actors' abilities is that Jensen doesn't seem to know what to do with his hands when he's acting. Physically, Chris has a better body but movie magic would have fixed that and still, JA's got shoulders and an ass to die for. I wanted it so bad I actually *saw* JA's face in some scenes. You know what that's called? That's right, barking crazies, is what that is.

This new fandom is churning out slash like a WWII era propaganda machine, but me, the only vibe I got was a lovely little dub-con vibe between Loki and Thor. [livejournal.com profile] dreamlittleyo posted a fic recently that made me go 'hot dog, that right there!' Oh yes, the movie brought that big, without a doubt. Also, it left me with a desire to see a little guilty Steve lets Phil do him favors involving Cap's dick and Phil's mouth, it leaves him all squirmy and unsettled and kind of hating himself and maybe Phil, but he keeps coming back and Phil doesn't really know how to say no and he likes it and hates it and likes it more when Steve fights the feeling right through a blowjob…whoooaaa. Went on a mini-vaca there, sorry.

Me summing up my whole experience? Joss is the shit, Black Widow was hot and competent and that made her even hotter, Thor's a big blonde idiot who deserves Loki tricking the shit out of him, Tony Stark is cool but Iron Man is still kind of corny, FUCK U CAP—SHHPIT-TOOIII !!! and Nick Fury is the mother-fucking greatest of all time. Not jumping my ship yet.

Sadly, we did not get a senior discount. *pout*

I (and a lot of other people) am sincerely wondering if he's actually dead. They made very sure to have the camera off of him when they called it. Plus as you said Nick Fury is very manipulative. Basically I won't be surprised either way.

Your review is certainly unique, Roxy! ;)

I'm hoping that The Dark Knight Rises can compete at the box office with this film. I'm a DC girl at heart, but Marvel has it all over DC for movies! DC hasn't done anything good except the recent Batman films.

P.S. Thor/Loki and Steve/Phil are HAWT! ;)

I'm trying to wait until the crowds die down. However, I've heard so many great reviews from people that I know I'm going to have to break down and see it soon

Glad to hear you loved it! (Have to admit, I wasn't all that impressed with "Thor" - but I did enjoy Loki's character in it. Probably one of the more two-dimensional comic book villains I've seen on the silver screen in a while.

Ori and I saw the Avengers last Sunday. I saw Thor and Captain America and liked them enough, but I went for one reason - Hawkeye. My new obsession! OMGUHH!! *g* I never saw the Iron Man movies because RDJ just kinda creeps me the hell out. But since I laughed at every one of his scenes in the Avengers, Ori is determined to get me to watch those two movies now. :P

Loki was all kinds of awesome. I just love the snarky bad guys, and WOW, did he clean up nice at the museum! Thor definitely got what he deserved from Loki, I mean come one, he's lied and tricked him how many times and he still "he's my brother" trying to 'save' him! Cute but totally the dumb blonde sterotype.

I didn't mind Captain America, but I kinda had a mini-crush on Chris Evans from the Fantastic Four movies. I was just waiting for Steve, Tony and Banner to get it on. lol The UST was unreal, even Ori made comments about it.

Poor Phil. :( I think the entire theater took a collective gasp when he got killed. :(

But yeah, I was totally focused on Hawkeye the whole time. DAMN Jeremy Renner is effing gorgeous! I just want to lick that vein on his arm a few times and I'll be happy. ;)

Aww, cos I really like Chris Evans in that role, and I'm a Cap girl at heart, and of course I've made no secret of the fact that I ship Tony/Steve something fierce. Still, I can understand disappointment regarding casting choices. When it comes time to cast Finnick, I'll likely feel the same as you do in this case if it's anyone but a certain Mr. Hedlund, so. . . *shrug*

Glad you liked the movie, hon!

(P.S. My Natasha icon just for you!)

This line made my night! <3 Ahaha, nothing like fangirls to fuel the war effort (war on what, I'm not sure...having too many hot guys in the same space w/o spontaneous sexual combustion, maybe?)

Honestly, Ackles should shoot his agent. Forget firing him. His best years are going to SPN (not saying it's a bad show, but can't be paying what he's worth for the hours he works). His side-projects are mostly shit, art-wise and prestige-wise and we all know that's not for any lack of acting talent or pretty.

That said, I sorta fell in love with Chris Evans when he was playing Jake Jensen in The Losers with JDM, and can't really begrudge him the role of Cap. I saw the first Cap movie and was a little angry at them for giving him such a weenie roll after the transformation. Avengers gave him struggles and humor and nobility in the face of adversity, so I was glad of that at least.

I'm reading Steve Rogers/Tony Stark for the most part. I like that Steve makes him want to be a better man. When they were arguing in the lab, and the engine blew and Steve was like "Put on the suit" and they ran out of the room and Steve like grabbed him around the waist to steady him through the door as the place was rocking. Mmm. And Steve nearly dying getting to the red lever.

Definitely have to see this again and fine more slash. :)

Also, OMG, the Phil/Steve you have outlined here mus become a reality.

My favorite was the way Ruffalo (sp?) played Banner and The Other Guy - I think I could ship him (them?) and Tony snarking away at each other in their secret labs. Bruce and anyone but Thor, really - Thor may be pretty but he's just too dim to appeal.

Sweetie, you said it yourself, Nick Fury is a manipulative sob. I love him dearly but he wouldn't hesitate for an instant to lie about Phil's being dead to achieve the ends he needs. The bit about the trading cards was a giveaway I think, that Phil's still alive. Why else would they go out of their way to have Maria Hill mention that they were in his locker, not his pocket?

I loved it to pieces, too. Tuesday night is cheap night at the movies here, I think Lee and I are going to see it again then. :)

*hugs you hard*

Wheee!
:)

I *am* in love. I'll admit, most of my love comes from the incredible fan-fic and utterly hopeless crush on RDJ, but omg! This movie was so bright and flashy and loud and *fun*. So *sparkly*. And all the fics were swimming in my head and i desperately wanted some Clint/Phil action going on and all of the Tony/Steve interaction was *so* the first five chapters in some epic long fic where they fight and piss each other off and then *fight* and have this grudging admiration and then they go their separate ways for a while but can't stop thinking about each other and gradually they fall into Tony sending stupid/weird/funny random texts and Steve sending postcards and once a shot someone took of him on his motorcycle in some desert setting and and and.....
!!!

:)
*ahem*

YES, anyway, yes, omg, Nick and Black Widow and Bruce and just.....everything!
*hands*

If you're up for a WIP, Astolat has a fantastic Avengers story being posted in chapters on AO3. You can find it here: http://archiveofourown.org/works/398023?page=1&view_full_work=true#comments

She writes them all beautifully, but most especially Loki. *melts*
