Hey, anyone out there have any information on, or knows anyone who worked with an organization called Teach America? BG is about to have an interview with them and I just wanted some information not from the organization itself.

Speaking of BG, she took up crochet as a hobby and imagine my surprise that she's actually having fun and making things--I fully expected that she'd end up stabbing her co-workers to death with her crochet hooks. Proud momma that I am, I took pictures!

cheese slice

Her first attempt--the Slice of Cheese!

kindle holder

And then a few weeks later, she made something you could do things with--behold, the Kindle Holder! Big things for a not very coordinated family!

baby hat

She made a hat! With ears!! I am astound! Much surprise!

I'm trying to talk her into making me Dean... :D

Right? I was really shocked when she pulled that hat out! I mean, we Roses are not a people gifted in the decorative arts--I was all, "how did you *do* that?"

She swore she was not making a chibi Dean. Ha! She's lost already! *rubs hands*

Very nice!!

My middle child (not a child anymore, but you know heh) took up knitting a year or so ago. learned from watching stuff online and man, she's so good at it!

I should ask for a Sam, then we could watch them play together. :D

If it's Teach for America, a few of my daughter's friends did it and it seemed like a positive experience for them.

I love that hat with the ears :)

hell yes.

they'd get their strings all tied up together, after a healthy bit of snarking over each other's fiber and cotton content.

then there would be much hot knitting/crochet sex. so hot that ... there might be sparks. burns. dowsing in water afterwards.

hee! Look at BG being all crafty! I used to want to learn to crochet when I was younger, but I just could never do more than a chain. Knitting always looked harder to me, but I was surprised when I picked that up with no problem.

That hat is too adorable! :)

My one and only foray in the fabric arts netted a super long, fuzzy...worm. Yarn and needles are not for me!
