Okay, things are starting to impact Whitney on a more personal level - this is good. And you're right, Whitney is more aware then I gave him credit for - the crying (for Kevin?) shows that Whitney is at least seeing where he is having a greater effect then he gave himself credit for.

I like that Whitney is all "I'm trying to help. You just don't--" He stopped and stared at Clark, his mouth in a tight line, his eyes blazing. "I am trying to help. You'll see." - I am trying to be worthy of you, give me a chance. It's very sweet and seriously wrong-head, but at least it's sweet first.

Clark is so outgrowing Smallville. He is going to leave and I don't know if he is ever going to come back. Because while he could possibly forgive the town for its prejudices and exclusionary society, I worry about his relationship with his parents. We haven't gotten to know much about the Kents and how they function in the Smallville society. I mean we know that the Kents are religious and don't want Clark "sinning" by using his powers. But what is their reactions to Clark's expanded consciousness, to what will be his choice of life partner(s).

Nice section.
