Title:: Out Of A Foreign Land
Author:: Roxy
Pairings/Characters:: Lex/Clark
Rating:: varying to nc-17
Word Count:: 33,522
Summary:: Captain Trips has destroyed his world, but gives Lex one more chance to alter fate.
Notes:: written as an answer to the [profile] sv_renaissance at Live Journal's "Steven King Challenge" 2008. The link will take you to wikipedia's entry for The Stand, and explain everything that I've left out of the story, hopefully make the ending sensible to those of you who don’t know the original story. And those of you who do. *g*

The characters I've taken from the book are Mother Abigail, Stu Redman, and Trashcan Man. And of course, Randall Flagg. The character of Adam, I took from SV, and combined aspects of him with that of Julie Lawry and a pinch of The Kid. The nice parts of that character Adam were all from SV's Adam Knight, who really was a fairly decent guy.

I can't imagine how the people of my youth have aged. I can't believe I'm aged. It's always a horrible shock complete surprise to see the little gray-haired old lady in the mirror. Young folks roll their eyes at us old people and hiss 'act your age', but we're just acting how we feel inside.

Since I can't seem to write, I've been cleaning up some of my old stories with an eye to posting them at my pretty DW. It's...interesting, ha! Anyway, I'm having fun doing that, at least. I've been dreaming about NTM, but not in any kind of productive way. It's all murky, twisted, and incomprehensible...just the direction the story is taking. *giant pout*

I'm amazed over and over at your creativity! The things you guys can do, knocks my socks off! I have the prettiest, the most artistic friends! Thanks millions for sharing your talents with the rest of us! Even if I don't comment all the time, I so appreciate the fact you're willing to share your art, your writing, your talent with fabric, with clay, with photos, and vids, *all* the amazing ways you make art--and if you think I'm talking about *you*, you're right!

*koff* I was momentarily overwhelmed with the love.
