oh, absolutely! i see the show that way, too, and it has frustrated the pants offa me. those scenes they set up, as after the hostage crisis in Jitters or after clark rescues martha & lionel from luthorcorp towers, where lex is left alone, staring at them all happy together -- they HURT. i want to shake martha and jonathan for not seeing their own dereliction and complicity in lex's growing alienation. *sigh*

i also love stories that have jonathan the way he could've been.
