What happened to the Drop A Building On Him plan? No, no, no. What needs to happen is that Lucas, insane and trying to destroy Superman and rescue Lex, activates a weapon he's been devoloping for the government as alien control, only it's not finished and the scientists are all trying to stop him, because maybe it's a particle accelerator and it will take out a three block radius if they turn it on, and Superman is trying to stop him, but there's supercharged Kryptonite and Lucas is going to kill Clark, but Lex can't let him and so he tries to talk him down and tells him he'll come home, anything if he'll just stop it and Lucas looks at Superman all writhing on the floor and has this epiphany that it's Clark and that Lex *loves* him and is *protecting* him and turns the machine on right before he shoots himself and the Kryptonite is still there and Lex has to shut down the reation himself while he watched Lucas bleed out on the floor and the last thing Lucas says is that he loves him then Lex looks away and sees Clark still dying slowly from Kryptonite poisoning and looks back at Lucas who is just pleading with his eyes and Lex says "I'm sorry" and goes to help Clark and when he turns back Lucas is dead.
