Yay, more Ripley! I liked this part a lot, too. I love that Clark has realized what a judgmental jerk he was but also realized the relationship was bound to run into problems. It's good to see him being mature and reflective. I also like the fact that Lex has that arrangement on the side--it shouldn't just be Clark who's been getting some.
It's funny, for all the years/story parts they were apart I was very impatient to see them get back together, but now that Clark has moved in I'm happy to wait for their slow reunion, because it is very fun to watch.
