He drew his hand over the rough spot on the back wall. Part of him had thought that when Ripley found the tapes, Lex might have erased this all-but no. Still there. All of it, even that crappy little drawing of a heart. He blushed. Geez. So...corny. So teenager in love. So meant with all his heart.
-- Awwwwwwwwwww!! Clark go get your man.
Lex continued. "...I wanted you to think about it. To give you a way out if..." He sat up again, all teasing gone; all playfulness wiped away. He stared into Clark's eyes; his own the color of smoke and ice. He said, "You need to know this, Clark. If you come back, I'm not letting you go. Again."
-- There's Lex putting all his cards on the table.
-- True, for Lex to have let Clark leave without putting up a stronger fight totally says something about how much he loves and understands all that Clark needs (and shows unusually patience for Lex, really, where Clark is concerned).
"*I* know how hard you need this to be," he whispered and Clark nodded, and just managed to stop himself from twisting on the sheets. Lex knew, Lex knew everything; Lex would take care of him....
-- Clark has always needed Lex to take care of him, now he is just more comfortable with that need. Yay, for being a grown-up who is comfortable with himself.
*sniffle* It's almost over, noes, noes!! *sniffle* I am so happy that Lex and Clark have finally physically reconnected. I think that are still things that they need to learn about the new Lex(s) and Clark(s) that they are, but I think they will take the time to do that.
And hey let me be the first to say that Ripley has always needed a sibling - maybe Lex and Clark need to make that their next project (in the nice expansive Epilogue that is coming ;-])
Heeeeee!!!
