*huggles* Well, even if you don't feel as though you have the skill to tell it, the only way you can improve your skills is to stretch your boundries and write different things. And as you've said, it's worked out well so far, and whatever happens, you know your fans will support you. So *hug!* and go for it.
And don't worry, I have a couple of SPN ideas. Granted, they're crossovers with SV at this point, but I imagine further on, I'll be getting some independent bunnies that don't involve one or both of the brothers boinking Clark and Lex (and maybe Dean flirting with Lois, Chloe, and Martha).
