Ah, I see. What I was having trouble believing was Lex (or anyone with good taste) freely choosing Whitney over Clark. Lex wanting Clark but believing that he can never have him, and thus settling for a pseudo-relationship with Whitney, however, does seem plausible -- especially if Lex is using the relationship as a means to further torment Whitney for what he allowed to happen to Clark. *grins evilly and eggs Lex on*
