Ok, I lied. How can I not comment on a chapter as good as this? I *love* this version of Clark--though the Kryptonite necklace makes me more than a little sad. But I love his wry observations--this bit about the chickens was a wonderful bit of detail: He filled the troughs and ignored the chickens scolding him, crazy reptilian eyes focused on him as he checked their water. He snarled at the rooster. They had an adversarial relationship—the damn bird always looked like it was one second from trying to attack him. "Try it," he muttered, "you'll be sorry."
And I love his relationship with Hannah (and the very existence of Hannah), and this version of Smallville. Damn, this story just gets better and better.
