I love being drawn into a story on an empathic level by way of all the senses. That said, you should know that I have a scent fetish, too (being a Taurus, anything sensual/pleasing the senses just comes natural). I've been known to ask people who have met favorite celebrities "What did he smell like?" Our sense of smell is, after all, closely associated with memory, and gives us the ability to identify more accurately than any of our other senses combined. For example, whenever my partner smells pipe tobacco, she is instantly reminded of her childhood and the day she met Jimmy Stewart (he smoked a pipe and the scent clung to him).

ALL your tactile descriptions in this story -- the smell of hay, sweat, specific spices and perfumes, but also the feel of soft, faded denim, fuzzy flannel and yes, even the vibration of the washing machine -- were all so very clear and real. I was able to pull from my own sense memories for each one, and all the pleasantries I associate with them suddenly became shared with these characters. Of course, the thought of Clark watching Lex (another of my kinks, voyeurism *G*) didn't hurt, either. ;)

What a sexy story to read just before bed! Thanks for sending me off to dreamland with some very lovely images.
