So, on the one hand, this was an empowering chapter -- Clark stepping up and embracing superhero-dom. And, of course, on the other hand there's Lex. . . I'll never be able to fully express how freaked out that first scene made me. When Wade put that gun to his head, it really did come out of the blue. The rest of the update, no matter how uplifting for Clark, was tinged grey and uneasy by the fact that it followed after Mahaney's pure. . . evil-ness.

You freaked me out, and made me go, "Yeah, boy!" all in the same post. Good job, storyteller. *pats you on the back*
