Ya'll know how I feel about the Joker, right? You know that Joker/Batman is one of my various OTPs. Not that there is any kissy face involved because that would be ew. but I love Joker, goodness yes. I didn't like any TV incarnation of the Joker except The Batman's first season. That was a damn good Joker. Brilliant voice work by Kevin Micheal Richardson.

All other Jokers suck, though mind you, I haven't seen any other animated versions. But again--suck. Except Heath Ledgers' version. That's my Joker, right there. Beautiful performance. Just wow. So, yeah, I saw the movie tonight and it was good, but man. That guy blew me away.

The Batman's Joker is absolitely fabulous. Whenever I write Joker I have in mind him mixed with more of the look of the Animated Series Joker. The voice is just fantastic. ...and I love his straightjacket and bare feet.

In reading Joker fic I always envision the same, a mix of the cartoons. Never Nicholson and I doubt I'll do Heath unless it's in that 'verse (haven't seen the movie yet).

Heath definitely gave the Joker a completely different personality than I've seen, though, admitedly, I haven't seen many of the animated shows.

But yeah... he made you laugh, he made you cry, and he was bone-chilling! *still in awe*

Oh. My. GOD. I'm still in shock after seeing that film. It wasn't even a movie to me. It was art. Bruce at the end? Ah, God, man! I just wanna wrap him up in my arms and cuddle him to death.

Heath, man. . . you went out with a bang. That was brilliant. I was so freaked out every time he was on screen. God, I'm going to have to see it again. Just too much to take in the first time, you know? *shakes head* Damn, that was great acting! Just think what could have been. . .

I totally agree with you on pretty much everything you've said! Joker is amazing, Joker/Batman is so good because they hurt each other and you know that Joker has that creepy kind of love for Batman, The Batman had the best animated Joker, and Heath Ledger will forever go down as the greatest played Joker ever! The Dark Knight was just brilliant but Heath's part really made the movie come to life!

It was amazing, wasn't it?? I saw it last night and heath Ledger just blew me away!!

Also, for animated Jokers, I love Mark Hamil's performance. he was the Joker I worked off of when I wrote my Batman/Superman/Lex fic. He's awesome! Pic up "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" if you can, and check it out! He's really amazing!

I told ya - Heath was indeed brilliant and I am soo glad that his last contribution to the acting world was just beyond reproach. His Joker was the best (I've just watched Jack's Joker again in Batman 1989 to refresh my memory) and I actually think Heath's was better. And I love Jack Nicholson as an actor - so this says a lot. And you're right about the feeling messed up again since watching and being blown away by his performance and knowing we will never have the privilege of watching him again in this role. So sad but by the same token - what a helluva a swansong!
