So, instead of writing, I've spent the better part of the day reading a honking big ole story that most of the time has me scratching my head going, "Oh? really? Hunh." And I just can't stop. Somebody, make me stop.

Man, I hope folks aren't looking over my shoulder going, what teh efff? on what planet do the boys act like that? But no, seriously you guys, I have a reason for why they act like they do in every story I write, really. Well, except for Whit. And Wade. And I like to think I've just made Pete a little more interesting. Also, I declare Lucas is totally in character, no matter what I have him do. Lana, I've gone both ways, good and bad, but the most fun I had was writing her as Pete's girlfriend in BOS.

Ah, the telling of a story...s'mores and campfires, broken hearts and bloody hooks...I love everything about it!

Hmmm. As you know, I've spent quite a lot of time reading SPN & J2 stuff, and LOTS of it is so ooc it makes my head spin. But. When it's a good writer, I can believe a heck of a lot, even if the core characterization is different than what I tend to think of it as. That goes even more so for AUs--in my opinion, believability in those is all about writing skill. And that, my dear, you have by the truckload. So, though I can't vouch for all of your AUs, due to my prolonged Smallville fic hiatus, I can say that in every story by you I've ever read your characterization has made sense to me, and has not made me roll my eyes and wonder what crackpipe you were smoking--unlike many other authors I've read recently.

Oh, p.s., in reference to our conversation a while back about J2 authors turning TW and MR into total jerks: there's a recent bigbang story, "The Wall," where TW has a fairly sizeable role, and while it looks initially like he's being written like a jerk, I think you would really like the resolution. Also it's a very sweet and romantic story. (Though if you have limited time, I'd read "Any Road will get you there," which is just an adorably sweet J2 epistolary romance, complete with hilarious LOLcats--and all the CW supporting cast are completely nice and not evil).

Edited because I can, actually, speak English. When I pay attention, anyway.

Why you're reading a story about them being OOC? Because sometimes we want to read them that way? Or you want to read something different than what most of the writers out there are doing? Or, it's just really well written so who cares if it's a bit (or way) AU? LOL

The SpN Big Bang one that I'm reading now it probably OOC but I don't care. I love it and I'm rereading it for the second time in two days. LOL

I think the fun part of SV (and comics in general) is that writers have more freedom with the characters. There's always something that can affect a character and have them act a certain way. And if any of your SV fics are OOC... I haven't noticed. Maybe it's cuz I just don't care... you make them just so much fun to read anyways. :D
